Band-Maid has stepped into the void left by Rush when the Professor passed away as being my current favorite band. (The Triumvirate shall always be my all-time favorite band.) These women are non-stop adrenaline, catchy hooks, and constantly pushing forward in their sound. I had the pleasure of seeing them live on their most recent North American tour. They always "bring the thunder" (to borrow a line from this song) live. The two songs of theirs that got through the pandemic lockdown were "Daydreaming" and "Blooming" if you haven't checked them out yet, you won't be disappointed. If you go down what we Maidiacs refer to as "the pigeon hole"; it does run deep but is well worth the ride! If it's blending of textures you're looking for their alter-ego group for April Fools Day Band-Maiko blends traditional Japanese instrumentation with the modern hard rock/metal sound.
For me..Kanami Tōno, lead guitarist and composer is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer, very unselfish, composes always to the whole band, plays her guitar just what serves the song the most. On stage..True Rock n’ Roll Star. Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️
Great reaction! Your comments about the song as tapestry with different textures and layers is perceptive. A lot of Band-Maid's music is like that -- usually more so -- and makes it both catchy and something you can put on repeat and never get bored.
Great reaction and yes, these song written for anime are more chaotic and layered, this one especially. Kanami. the lead guitarist and composer of most of their songs loves to layer guitars in most of her songs, but also dials back her parts in the mix (no ego) to leave room for all the other instruments and vocals. Thanks for reacting to Band-Maid again.
From Japan I agree with your expression that it looks like a patchwork. Pieces of fabric in various colors and patterns are combined to create a quilt. By repeating stop and go while changing the colors, a harmonious piece is completed. BAND-MAID is doing BAND-MAID. Next, check out Puzzle or From now on. I'm sure you'll like it.
This song comes at you like a bullet train. Those hard stops after the chorus really are necessary to help you catch your breath after almost being strangulated. Haha.
Textural layering is a great insight, and one of the many things I love about Band-Maid. With the patchwork, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Great analysis. Metal emotions, indeed. You make total sense. I can't wait to hear what this sounds like when they play it live. 😃
Thanks for your reaction to the Maids. They do a lot of music for animes. This time, Grandizer U, the anime is very popular in France. I don't know if that is why they use so many "Ou lala, ou lalas," but could be Maid-speak for "We're going to kick your butts!". It's pretty hard to examine all the elements of this fast-paced, high energy, hard rock banger. There are a ton of small bits in this video that can keep you busy for days breaking them down.
I agree with you about the lyrics getting in the way. I am not a big fan of having to read subtitles to keep up with what is going on, but the music was great. I can remember having that kind of energy......a long time ago. Watching you sure added to the fun. Thanks for another great reaction, Red.
Band-Maid is one of a kind. Even their anime songs have quirky quality to it. Definitely not for everyone, but they will be forever loved by music lovers with eclectic taste.
You should watch the two BAND MAIKO videos. Secret My Lips and Gionl-cho. I think you'd really like them. Watch a regular Band Maid song INFLUENCER too.
Red like you I love when hard rock drops to silence so you kinda catch your breath and get to start a new part of the song, This bend brings in from all directions 🎸🎸FYI I DID TYPE THIS WHILR YOU WERE WATCHING WE JUST THINK ALIKE I KNOW THAY IS SCARY FOR YOU LOL🎸🎶🎶🎵🎵#bandmaid #bandmaidreaction # #femalerock #japaneserock #redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulduncountrygirl #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #27K CONGRATS ON 27K WE ARE ALL PROUD TO BE PART OF YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD 💕💕
I’m divided on this one, the song has tons of energy and a great vocal performance, but most of the instrumentation is just texture with little melodic content. If you like the “patchwork” quality of this one, check out Why Why Why from the Unseen World album - but there’s no official video so you’d have to use the album track (or a fancam).
You can listen to all the songs from the Unseen World album on their official channel. However, only three songs, “Warning!”, “After Life”, and “Manners” have music videos. The other songs are not in music videos, but are provided with their cover images. So you can also listen to Why Why Why on their official channel.
who says hard rock, its not. its way over produced and def does not sound live. its an overlay from the studio. thanks red, ill know to avoid like the plague. huh hmm what about bambie thugs eurovision semi final. thats actually live.
It is clearly a music video, rather than a 'live' version. They do have plenty of live tracks on their channel and they are well worth checking out, (though your mind already appears to be made up anyway, so I doubt you'll bother) - there are also plenty of fancams online so that you can hear what they sound like without any studio overdubs etc - though obviously a phone mic won't completely do those justice, and the quality of the recording will vary dependent on venue, positioning, phone quality etc.
6:35 - that would be Kanami leaving and Mincho taking over 🥰🎸🎸

Both Eddie and Kanami started on the piano and composed on piano, so they tend to be more melodic rather than shreddy in their solos.
This song is the ending song for the anime "Grendizer U". The songs they do for animes are usually a little more hectic than their normal songs.
Great reaction! Your comments about the song as tapestry with different textures and layers is perceptive. A lot of Band-Maid's music is like that -- usually more so -- and makes it both catchy and something you can put on repeat and never get bored.
I love that they all take a turn in the elevator.

And this is why it seems to me the Anime industry has beating down Band-Maids door for Openings and closings.....Pure Power!
Just pure rock and roll love it
They are definitely growing on me video by video. They have something quirky about them, in a good way, that I like.
Head phones on, focus on them, immersive experience
@@redheadedneighbor Always headphones. 👍😊
Another great song from Band Maid. I am looking forward to their new album. Nice reaction.
Band-Maid never disappoints. These young ladies rock out 🤘

Industrial drama! Fits the purpose perfectly... what else would you do for a giant robot anime ;) Maids nailed it.

Grendizer U! Thx!
You don't need coffee, you just need Band Maid 😁. Best rock band on the planet.
Good job!. It usually happens that the best Band Maid song is the last one you are listening to. Thank you!
