I'm hoping Zach's career blows up like Jordan Peele after this. I agree that sometimes it's the comedy writers who understand both the social criticism element and the suspense/scary element of horror movies

Then your name shows up im the end credits as director and my jaw dropped lol. Legendary. Big fan of wkuk and thought this film was pretty great.

I never watched WKYK so I didn’t think I knew him but then I saw an interview was like OMG that’s Owen from Wrecked!! I loved him in that and want to see more of his stuff now, he did incredible with this, especially as his first film! I love that his vision was so clear.
I didn't even realize that Zach was associated with the film until the end credits rolled. A fantastically written and directed anxiety-fest. I really hope Zach keeps making horror movies; he's up there with Jordan Peele on terms of "comedians showing their fucked up sides as horror directors."
Hot damn! I have always loved WKUK. Have seems many of the things they have done individually, but I just now finished watching Barbarian. Fucking nailed it Zach! That was crazy, exciting, and chaotic. Far from what I was expecting, and that made it all the better. Congratulations on such an awesome film.

I swear,I watched this without knowing he was the writer , just that he was in the movie. And while watching it i had a feeling several times that he wrote it until the end. Also the character Keith felt like he was written for Trevor. He all but says it himself that his time writing WKUK had influence Also "be young have fun " 😂😂
During the initial phone call at the start of Act 2 I thought it was Andy Samberg for some reason and was pleasantly surprised to see it was Zach. Then during the flashback sequence I was curious on who directed it cause it was so "art student" like and was again pleasantly surprised.
If Trevor was still around, I wonder if he would've followed in Zach's footsteps. Because I can tell you right now, "Barbarian" is leagues better than "Miss March" or even WKUK.
