The two gauges under the tachometer is the manometers for the air pressure for the front and rear airpressure brakesystems. When the truck is charging air the two gauges are supposed to rice in a paralell manner. The air system is suposed to load air to the brake system first. Then the air will be delivered to the rest of the system. The air bellows on the suspension and -if equipped- the air supported seat will be filled at the end of the sequence. I have a 1992 topline/streamline Scania R113 with 400 hp 11 litres inline 6. I have the rare turbocompound engine. My truck is a flatbed 6x2 with a rear mounted crane. Distance between front and driven axle is 4,60 meters. Front leaf spring and air suspended rear axles. Tog axle lift is operaded by air. My truck is very good equipped from the factory. Cruice control (EDC dieselpump), traction control, Telma electric retarder, automatic chassis lubrication (ACL), Webasto dieselheather that warm engine and cab (9,6 Kwh), ISRI air supported seats. Differential lock, 14 speed GRS900 gearbox, headlight washers, air horns…
Great video. My Uncle owned this truck from the late 90s when it was nearly new to the early 00s. I have great memories as a kid going out and listening to that lovely V8. So happy to see she is still going strong. You can't beat a Scania. Sadly my Uncle is no longer with us but that was by far his favorite Scania. I hope she gets the refurbishment she deserves. Do you have an email address I contact you on? I have a couple of old photos from 2000 where she looked very different in Blue and Whte that I'd like to share with you. Cheers, James.
James amazing I have some old ones of her in blue and white! Sure thing if you have Instagram sir message me on there I will give you my details! She worked for McKellar right?
The 2 meters on the bottom left to the rev meters are control gages from the tractor and trailer. Each have a seperate meter. The 2 pull out sticks are left to adjust the idling revs.the stick right to it is the kill engine stick. And it was very UNCOMFORTABLE with 2 drivers in that hut. I have done non stop trips Amsterdam NL - Cadiz south spain-Amsterdam NL with fresh flowers and it was awfull in that cab. Even solo it was horrible. But he that is oldskool as they call it. We that all skool can be stolen from me. Now drive a FH 770 Volvo and can at least sleep on a normal bed without beeing a olimpic athete. The engine is very good. Old mecanic tecnics, but the rest a big NO THANK YOU from me. Watch the airbag on the front and the back, the will explode often. and driving with the cab on his studs makes you feel you are driving a old 141 with spring suspension.
Ah man You really know your stuff. Must have been around for a while doing it and that's really cool. Do you miss the old ones or are you happy driving your new Volvo?
@@gearedupgarage From 1980 i am driving INT. From the nothcape to Morocco,Russia,Turkey and isreal via cyprus.Been there, seen it,done that and got the t-shirt. I miss the old days only as pain in my tooth. The best thing then was the paper tacho disc and things to fraude them. i do hate that digital stuff. My volvo is better equipped like my home. A night airco,a nice and good bunk in 1 piece. Not a 3 part bunk as in the standard scanias 142 and 143. More space, more comfortable. And no back pain after jumping in a scania on the bad roads in eastern russia. But the friendship between drivers from all matinality,s is what i am missing the most. 2 years more and then Bye Bye lorry. Retired and driving with the miss and boss around in Europe in a Campervan. Living the gipsy and good life
