- We recently travelled to Lataguri after the painful lockdown period. You won't believe how much relaxing and rejuvenating the trip was for us. We stayed for 3 nights. This is the first part of the video where we will show you the journey from our home to the heavenly dooars. Although, this time, we felt a little odd when we found out that a flyover is buing built in Lataguri just to cross a single railway track. As per the locals, many trees were cut off as the width of the road is now almost 3 times than it was previously. Anyway, we can only feel the pain but do nothing in these situations. Hope, you will enjoy the first part of our journey. Do let us know how it went.
P.S- This is our first time shooting in a gopro. We apologize in advance as editing/sound quality is not up to the mark.
How to reach Lataguri:
Best option is to take the Kanchankanya Express from Sealdah(SDAH) and get down to New Mal Junction (NMZ). From New Mal Junction station, it is around 1 hour of journey in a rented car to Lataguri. An advantage of availing the Kanchankanya Express is the awesome natural beauty of the train route from New Jalpaiguri Station to New Mal crossing the Chapramari Forest. It is best to call your hotel/local car operators to arrange a car for the pick up from New Mal.
Due to COVID-19, Kanchankanya Express is not running. You can take any train upto NJP railway station like we did and then take a hired car to Lataguri. It may take approx.. 2 hours via Gajoldoba.
A car cost from NJP to Lataguri: 1500/- for small and 1800/- for big car.

Where to stay:
There are many hotels and resorts in Lataguri but our choice is Tuskers Den Forest Resort. The location (just opposite to Gorumara Watch Tower safari ticket counter ), the hospitality of the staffs and the cottages all are best according to us. You can book rooms in this resort online. We went there for the 4th time now.

Visit time: 6:00 am to 7:30 am and Permits Issued: 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM.
Visit time: 8:30 am to 7:30 am and Permits Issued: 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM.
Visit time: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and Permits Issued: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Visit time: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and Permits Issued: 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM.
October to February
Visit time: 6:30 am to 8:00 am and Permits Issued: 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM.
Visit time: 9:00 am to 10:30 am and Permits Issued: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM.
Visit time: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm and Permits Issued: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
Visit time: 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm and Permits Issued: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
One person in a group availing the watchtower visit or safari needs to be personally present at the counter and carry a photocopy of self ID Proof.

Apnara keno new mal junction ba NJP theke lataguri jaan?...Ete distance onekta hoy... New Mainaguri station theke latagurir distance sobcheye kom...You should go for that option.... 3 te train ache... Sealdah theke teesta torsha and uttorbongo express and kamrup express from howrah...

New Maynaguri rail station থেকে Tuskerden forest resort পর্যন্ত যেতে গাড়ী ভাড়া কত লাগে ও কোন গাড়ীর নম্বর পেলে উপকৃত হতাম । আগামী 2রা ফেব্রুয়ারী থেকে কয়েকদিনের জন্য আমি সেখানেই থাকবো ।
