I'm probably older than your grandfather but this was very popular and the Gibb brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice, were very successful in the '60s '70s and '80s. Their falsetto harmonies were very distinctive and sold many millions of records (I have no idea how many!!) and were at the top of the record chart for many years. This was long before the electronic editing corrected for wandering voices and such. This was just pure talent! Unfortunately, much of these older recordings were from recording equipment that just wasn't up to today's quality. Some of my favorite recordings are from performers of the 1930s, '40s, and '50s. At the time I first listened to them, they were the best!! Now they sound a little "thin" and scratchy but I still remember how they used to sound. I still get out my old clarinet and play along with the jazz records from when I first learned to play back in the early 1950s. The guys from my old quartet aren't with us any longer but I still sing with our old recordings. In your memories, you'll never forget them!! You have another new subscriber! Oh, you're really in need of history in modern music! They had massive hits and many Nr. 1 songs from the mid-sixties up to 2001. As songwriter, Barry Gibb has only Paul Mc Cartney in front of him, due to guinnesbook of worldrecords. Check'em out with 'To Love Somebody' (1968), 'Run To Me' (1972), 'Tragedy' (1979), 'You Win Again' (1987), 'For Whom The Bell Tolls' (1992), 'Alone' (1997) and 'This Is Where I Came In' (2001). Only seven songs out of nearly 1100, they wrote together (or Barry alone) for themselves and many other big stars like Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross or Celine Dion. Many stars like Rod Stewart, Take That, Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, Foo Fighters, Boy Zone or Beyonce covered songs of them. As Bee Gees, they sold over 300 million records worldwide. So dont forget, you're reactin' to the highest level of superstars which has ever been around.
@@shannontaylor345 Ok, but I'm not so much in terms like better and so. I'm thinkin' there are always sort of better singers, musicians, songwriters, live performances, producers or bands to find. But in summit of it all, it's really unpossible to compare to Bee Gees. You're right with the fact that Beatles, Stones, Elvis, Queen, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna and many others had been prefered by medias at all, meanwhile it's been kinda in, to joke about Bee Gees. But they jumped over all the hurdles, which were put in their way. That's real genius, and Sir Barry fits this role in a perfect way.
If I'm not mistaken, they are still the only artists to have written #1 songs in 6 consecutive decades. Either for themselves or for other artists. #1 songs in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90s, 00's and 10's. R.I.P MAURICE, ROBIN AND ANDY!!
Heard a great story told by an Alice Cooper roadie about hearing SNF for the first time. He and the band we're on a tour bus openly mocking the entire disco craze and somebody put on the 8 track and the entire bus got suddenly quieter and quieter after every track. When it was over? Everyone just kind of shook their heads in amazement. "You couldn't hate it! It just demanded respect musically". 😄😄😄😄😄
Bee Gees were born on Isle Of Man, moved to Manchester, then to Australia returning to England then USA. Barry the central brother is the oldest. Robin on Barrys right and Maurice on the left are twins. Both the twins have sadly passed away. They also had a younger brother Andy who has also sadly passed.
Every 20 seconds a Bee Gee's song, or a song they wrote for another artist, is playing somewhere in the entire world 🌎 let that sink in, then you'll understand the God-level talent the Gibb brothers have.
The Bee Gees are the 3 Brothers Gibb. The head singer in this song (guy in the middle) is Barry. He was born in 1946. Robin (long blond hair) and Maurice (pronounced Morris) are fraternal twins born in 1949. Their career ran from 1958 to 2009. The twins have passed away, Maurice (2002) and Robin (2012). Barry is still alive at the age of 76, and still writing songs, performing, and putting out albums. One of the great things about the Bee Gees and their long career is that they were constantly growing and reinventing themselves. They have a younger brother Andy who performed on his own. He was just as talented. The Bee Gees wrote and produced for 1,000 songs. They have sold over 120 million records worldwide (with estimates as high as over 225 million records sold worldwide), making them among the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the Hall's citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees." With nine number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the Bee Gees are the third-most successful band in Billboard charts history behind only the Beatles and the Supremes.

Barry Gibb is the main singer/brother. My good friend's mother was friends with him in South Florida. He would join her and her friends for a book club in the 80's! The story she would tell is you have 3 older women and Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees talking about the book, Little Women! lol
They all (even Andy) dropped out at 13 or 14, so maybe he was trying to round out his reading skills. He was known to write from inspiration. I’ll have to listen to his albums from that period to see if there’s some bit that may have been inspired by Little Women or a reading club. If you’re on twitter or Facebook, that would make a great question!!
They recorded this song in 1 take. This was actually the practice session, but Barry decided that they couldn't improve on this one, so they kept this one. 1 take. 😳❤️

For a comparison of Barry's vocal range, listen to Nights On Broadway. I wouldn't call his voice deep, but he has a lot of power in his lower ranges. And you can't go wrong with any song by the Bee Gees.
The Bee Gees sing this song in falsetto, a method of voice production used by male singers, especially tenors, to sing notes higher than their normal range. They have a lot of songs that they sing in their normal, deeper voices.
@Bisscute So check this out beautiful, the group the Bee Gees were brothers. All 3 brothers have falsetto range which made them that more talented. The Bee Gees have been recording as a group since the early 60's. The group became even more popular in the 70's. Their music could easily stand up today in rotation on most Radio stations. Sadly, Barry Gibb the lead singer is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first. Maurice Gibb passed away then Robin Gibb passed away leaving only Barry and his sister Leslie.

The Bees Gees performed this song at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.

Yeah, the pants were really tight back then, my husband used to say it was to show off his bird. As for the falsetto the early Bee Gees had way less, they used the falsetto voice more when they hit the disco era.
In case no one has said this yet, the Bee Gees are all brothers. Their last name is Gibb. Brothers Gibb - B G or Bee Gees. And yes that is how they sing. Absolute STARS from the 70s! Another great reaction, young lady. ❤❤
Finally getting a chance to see this reaction, really curious what she will think. Edit: Her face every time brother Barry came in, priceless. Also, I knew the jean bulge would spark a reaction. 🤣 Biss, you look amazing in today's video.😍
Thank you for this. The Gibb brothers - OMG. Tons of hits, and yes their big thing was melody, harmonies, and falsetto. Amazing discography. They also had a younger brother, Andy, who as a matter of fact sounded just like they did. Often the three brothers would sing backup to Andy's songs. Yes, they were romantic, but their talent went further. And that's one of the things I miss about 70s music, is the overall talent and variety of artists and groups. Whether it was rock, pop, folk or somewhere in between. Incredibly capable and studied musicians, and there were so many of them!
Hi Biscuitte the Bee Gees had many hits from the mid 1960s to 2000s Too much heaven was from 1979 one of many number one songs from them. Tight jeans was normal for everyone in 1979.
I know others have already said it, but yeah, The Bee Gees are monoliths in terms of American and world music history, they and Abba and The Jackson 5 were all paving the way during the time (along with several other artists of course) But yeah I do agree, the harmonies are what make this song so phenomenal, that was their thing. The fact that they are doing this all in analogue and using raw vocals, as MALES, that’s an incredible accomplishment - and far underrated today as it’s become the standard to enhance to cut back on studio time in an attempt to reach digital perfection. This is analogue perfection, something on a whole other level that modern music lacks in such a depressing way. I’m a male vocalist, and these guys are some of my heroes, along with Prince and Michael Jackson and all the greatest artists/performers of all time. The Bee Gees were beyond talented, they’re absolutely magical. These types of artists are why don’t use auto tune - that raw harmony sounds incredible live and the melodies sounds so much better when you can hear the natural glide in the voices imo (and objectively speaking if you check the studies on how humans react to natural vs digital too tbh) but hey, everyone has different ears. Just my opinion (with science lol)
Bisscute: you need to listen to more Bee Gees, they had a number one song in 5 consecutive decades! "How do you Mend a Broken Heart", "Wish you Were Here" and many more!! All beautiful songs.
These were the times when music was music, made with incredible voices, compositions, arrangements and real instruments. Hopefully it won't become a lost art.
Congratulations. You’ve now found one of the best British groups of the last 60 years. These brothers have written and performed an amazing amount of hits. Please react to a LOT more from the Gibb brothers.

God I've taken it all for granted. I grew up with these guys music and all the other great bands from the late 60s onwards. Real talent before synthesises.
This was the fashion at this time, all men/boys wore it (thank god not the older/old 😁), and it also was the time of disco, where you danced also very close together to love songs, so you could feel a lot!😆😂
@@dp3396 I don’t know a whole lot because I never met them however my uncle was best friends with Barry so he got to know the others as well and would bring them to the house where my mother and grandparents lived, they never told me a whole lot just bits and pieces if I could tell more I would but that’s all I know.
I have always wondered if maybe the reason the vocals are so high is because their pants are too tight. 🤣🤣 Biss sweetie, as always, BIG HUGS from Tennessee, USA! 😍👍
And they could do this live - even later on in their careers. Look out for their "One Night Only" concert which was recorded of which there are many clips on YT and they have do a medley of bits of songs, just the 3 of them, 1 microphone (much like this video) and Barry playing guitar. One clip in the medley is from their track "Nights on Broadway" and the live falsetto harmonies are spine chilling they're that good.
Exactly right. Older music 1930s to 1980s was romantic. Primarily a man’s quest for the love of his dream girl. That was the over riding emotion for poets and song riders. What else was there? Love and happiness. The Bee Gees falsetto was shocking at first but grew on you quickly. Beautiful harmony and amazing song writing along with the disco dance beat popular at the time. Lots of disco song choices in their catalog.
Those tremolos they do on falsetto, perfectly coordinated at the end of each chorus are INSANELY hard to do. Only if you have perfect technique and control you can pull that off. People tend to overlook their vocals just on pure pitch, but the work you have to put there to make it happen that perfect is just mindblowing.
Barry only discovered his falsetto voice after the group had been performing for many years. The number of hits they've performed, written, or produced for other artists is super impressive. It's definitely worth checking into more of their songs. Incredible talents.
This song is from the 70s! they never had the tech then that they have nowadays, at most they used double tracked voices but thats it, all original vocals! The BeeGees were original and did not use auto tune like they do now on all the rubbish other bands put out today! They were and still are in my eyes the best ever band to exist!!!!
This was two years after Saturday Night Fever, they sang live here and all of the proceeds from this song was and still is being donated to UNICEF which to this day has generated more than 12 million dollars.
Arguably the most accomplished and well-known group that sings falsetto. They were well-established before they blew up during the Disco Age. Unfortunately, only one of the brothers (all were brothers--three members of the BeeGees--"Brothers Gibb"--and their youngest who had a solo career) is still alive. That would be Barry Gibb, who is the lead vocalist--the guy in the middle.
This is such a perfect song to be playing at this moment. As you may be aware that this is about love and loss. And my country is experiencing that right now with the sad passing of our beloved monarch Queen Elizabeth ll.

In case no one has said this yet, the Bee Gees are all brothers. Their last name is Gibb. Brothers Gibb - B G or Bee Gees. And yes that is how they sing. Absolute STARS from the 70s! Another great reaction, young lady. ❤❤
And 60s
Finally getting a chance to see this reaction, really curious what she will think.
Edit: Her face every time brother Barry came in, priceless. Also, I knew the jean bulge would spark a reaction. 🤣
Biss, you look amazing in today's video.😍
Thank you so much
Thank you for this.
You welcome, thank you for watching and enjoying it ❤️
A lot of great songs from this amazing band. Love The Bee Gees!! Awesome reaction as always 🔥
Thank you so much
Spot on! Lyrics back in the day had meaning! And harmonies were perfect no auto tune back then
"How deep is your love" is another good song
LOTS OF BEE GEES FANS OUT HERE! 🥰 Most will prob subscribe if you react to more of their great music🎼!!
Perfect song, perfect performance...
I absolutely loved watching your eyes widen the further and higher they sang. Thighs pants were the secret to getting him to sing so high lol.
Biscutte te felicito por tu reacción es acertada, a LM a BGees Santana
Te felicito desde Mexico
best harmony ever. Barry Robin and Maurice Gibb. Brothers. all talent no Autotune in 1978 when this came out.
Such a lovely song, like you. I'm having goosebumps!
Aweeee thank you ❤
Hi Biscuitte the Bee Gees had many hits from the mid 1960s to 2000s Too much heaven was from 1979 one of many number one songs from them. Tight jeans was normal for everyone in 1979.
I know others have already said it, but yeah, The Bee Gees are monoliths in terms of American and world music history, they and Abba and The Jackson 5 were all paving the way during the time (along with several other artists of course)
But yeah I do agree, the harmonies are what make this song so phenomenal, that was their thing.
You made me laugh this time...those jeans were tight 🤣
I grew up listening to these guys and this and Immortality with Celine Dion are both great songs. (just wanna say you have a beautiful Accent) 🌹
Thank you
Bisscute: you need to listen to more Bee Gees, they had a number one song in 5 consecutive decades! "How do you Mend a Broken Heart", "Wish you Were Here" and many more!! All beautiful songs.
Lindo atuendo de la dama que reacciona , muy adecuado para tan hermosa canción . Felicidades . Bella sonrisa !!!
The Bee Gees are super iconic and one of a kind.
It's more than a sound...it's the way it makes you feel deep inside...
Fantastic song and voices, and on a separate note... She is fit as a butchers dog 💪
Your reaction is soo pure!!
Thank you
British Band??...are you sure?
They are Australian ...
@@taylemgames2652 Because they lived in Australia doesn’t make them Australian! They were born in the Isle of Man and moved to Australia in the late 50’s. 👍🏻
@@jfleming8311 Positve. Born in the Isle of Man. Moved to Manchester until the late 50’s when they emigrated to Oz. They returned to the UK again in 1967. Hope this helps.
These 3 gentlemen are all in the rock music hall of fame and the songwriters hall of fame as well they are the most recorded trio in music history with over 500 cover versions of their songs across their 6decade careers
Oh these guys had pure raw talent! You’ll never find anything better! I’d go back to my younger days in a heartbeat if it meant I’d get to experience the BeeGees for the first time all over again. 😎✌🏻
Por fin, yo crecí con las canciones de los Bee Gees ya que mi mamá los escuchaba mucho. Gracias
Everyone Staying Alive , when you love Bee Gees, I think you love ELO( Electric Light Orchestra) too.
Want to hear from you, Biss.
God I've taken it all for granted. I grew up with these guys music and all the other great bands from the late 60s onwards. Real talent before synthesises.
I love this song and your reaction. You are just too cute!
This was the fashion at this time, all men/boys wore it (thank god not the older/old 😁), and it also was the time of disco, where you danced also very close together to love songs, so you could feel a lot!😆😂
You need to listen to Staying Alive from them. Absolute disco anthem 😎
i was a teenager when this song came out!
Me also 17 in 78 When To much Heaven was released
The best of the best Bee Gees Legends
This is a beautiful song by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibbs. Beautiful music back in the day
Once In a lifetime talent you will never see that again In your life 😊
when you realize they are bothers it is even more precious
My mother, grandparents and uncle knew the Barry, Robin, Maurice and Andy when they lived at a place in Brisbane Australia called Cribb Island.
Please do tell more!!!
Thank you for being here
And they could do this live - even later on in their careers.
That's music from my childhood. And those high notes that they sing, yes, that's just the way they sing.
Those super tight jeans are the reason for the high pitched voices 😂 I kid 😆
Actually when they talk they have deep voices Maybe you have tight jeans lol Get bigger pants
They were one of a kind and epic 100
Aloha Biscuit, well done, sweet reaction 😂🎉
They do a duet with Celine Dion called Immortality... You won't be disappointed. It's an amazing song
Wow ❤️
Arguably the most accomplished and well-known group that sings falsetto. They were well-established before they blew up during the Disco Age. Unfortunately, only one of the brothers (all were brothers--three members of the BeeGees--"Brothers Gibb"--and their youngest who had a solo career) is still alive. That would be Barry Gibb, who is the lead vocalist--the guy in the middle.
Great fun to watch as always. The facial expressions do it for me every time lol
Glad you enjoyed it
This is such a perfect song to be playing at this moment. As you may be aware that this is about love and loss. And my country is experiencing that right now with the sad passing of our beloved monarch Queen Elizabeth ll.
