Wonderful fluid movements are shown here. This is a complicated system, but this master is making it look so natural. I've never learnt Baguazhang, but I can appreciate it's art, completeness and obvious applications.
Hi Mark, I will soon publish the martial applications of each single palm, performed by master Xu Guoming, and also applications performed by me. 🙂 They can also be interesting for those who practice other styles.
GREAT VIDEO! I practice a different style of Pa Kwa Chang. However, I find this really nice. Could you please supply with Shuai Jiao and Chin Na applications? Thanks. BEST REGARDS 😊
@@joanstone6740 I agree, the same can be said for Tai Chi too. I don't train much in applications, although I do try to understand and practise how they might work. In real situations there are so many variables, so my approach is to avoid getting into a tangle with anyone. For many years as a youngster, teenager and even an adult, I was prone to sticking up for myself and fighting to defend myself. At that time, I only had knowledge and experience of Judo and some Kung Fu, but in real fights the "applications" learned at Judo and Kung Fu classes rarely came into play. However, I think the training gave me good balance, reflexes and the ability to take a few blows and not panic. I always managed to get out of the situation with little or no injury to myself or the other person. As Bob Markey used to say: He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day 😀
i asked my shifu, he told me that maybe the baguazhang in video was mix from xingyiquan and baguazhang by master zhang zhankui, so that got some chen style bagua movements
Sifu Dante, May I ask what system of Bagua this is? It has similarities to the Cheng style I am trained in, but also looks influenced by Jiang style some as well.
Gracias gracias. Bendiciones y paz.

one thing about Bagua the applications aren't really that obvious a lot of the time

Love how Master Xu moves. Any chance you have any footage of him doing the Snake style BGZ that he learnt from Zhang Qinglin?
Ciao Greg. I look at it, I have lots of old VHS footage of Master Xu who teaches BGZ in Italy. 🙏🏽
@@DanteBasili Grazie Mille!! That would be fantastic.
Hi Dante. It's nice to see this. This was shot in San Francisco in 1991, in the golden gate park.
Thanks, I had these old VHSs that Xu gave me at home, but I didn't know the exact date.
1:36 he had so much snap it sounded like a whip
Very smooth!
I just read below you'll be publishing applications to the 8 Palms......looking forward to it.
I used to have the old vhs recordings of this. I want to say it was around 1988 or maybe 1990.
Yes, George Xu gave it to us in 1995, but the shoot was several years ago.
i asked my shifu, he told me that maybe the baguazhang in video was mix from xingyiquan and baguazhang by master zhang zhankui, so that got some chen style bagua movements
thank you for the clarification! 😀
where can I learn this? It is quite difficult to find a teacher
Bagua Zhang is quite widespread throughout the world.
yes, of course@@DanteBasili

Probably mix from xingyiquan and baguazhang by master Zhang Zhankui. I like it :)
Zhang Zhankui was Cheng Ting Huas student and Jiang Rong Qiaos teacher, so almost right, just that its older than Jiang, not influenced by.
Il Bagua è uno degli stili più interessanti secondo me, proprio per i suoi movimenti circolari e estremamente fluidi!
wow!
superb
True :)
I'm going to go try some of these in my upcoming MMA fight next year.
A culture can live for centuries. A fashion, at best, only a few decades. I love things that remain over time.

Beh la taolu è questa, i movimenti sono corretti, anche se non sono presenti quelli che dici tu
