That is encouraging to hear. I did try a few chapters of the day of the triffids a few years ago and I do think I am going to really enjoy it. I’m tempted to start with it as it is the shortest on the list. 🤔
Love a TBR jar! I used to have one but then I would keep cheating by putting back any books I didn't want to read, which meant in the end it was just full of books I didn't care about 😅
😆 That is definitely a risk with using a TBR jar. I am going to try and be very deliberate about not putting things back, but we will see how it goes. 😬
Oh, that’s one I really want to read at some point. It sounds like one I will really enjoy. I feel like relying on the jar was not the smartest choice I have ever made 😂 I am not convinced I can read that many pages in 30 days.
Ha, when books juuuuust on the cusp of 500pgs keep turning up. 🤣"Day of the Triffids" is one that we had to read in high school - I am sure it's changed by now but we had an oddly dystopian curriculum. It's been way too long to say if I think you'll like it; I don't even remember whether *I* liked it or not. The other day, I put my list of owned-but-unread ebooks into a spreadsheet - I could imagine using a random number generator or something to pick a TBR from there. ...but this feels too stressful! I think I'm not spontaneous enough for this.
I know! It’s over 3000 pages in total, which is a lot for me. This was possibly not my smartest idea ever 🤣 I would love to see you plan a randomly generated TBR but I do also love how deliberate and thoughtful your TBR’s always are.
@@Bookishdowntime I read Sepulchre. I read Shrine. I read some of The Rats. Not sure if I finished it. I read some others too. Can't remember which. The one I remember is The Magic Cottage. It was the first one I read. I read it not long ago for a second time. I loved it both times.
The Magic Cottage is one I keep meaning to try and you have convinced me that I really do need to pick it up soon. My first James Herbert was Fluke. I got it out of the school library when I was 13 or 14 so I don’t really remember it all that well anymore. 😆
The day of the triffids is great. I loved that Heather so fun. The pink witchy book sounds awesome ❤ can’t wait to hear how you get on with it all ❤

Ha ha! The TBR jar has no mercy! I know you have some big ones, but they sound great!
It is SO many pages 😆 I am looking forward to reading them all (or at least as many as I can).

I hear you ….im currently 900 pages into the witching hour with over 200 pages still to read ❤
Are you enjoying it? I do love a chunky read but they end up taking me months to finish. 😁
@@Bookishdowntime oh im loving it!
@CandySoulAndSoil it’s been so long since I read an Anne Rice, maybe I should add it to my TBR.
I really like John Wyndham ( my fave is The Midwich Cuckoos). The jar gave you a lot of big books this month 😅

Oh the tbr jar was kinda ruthless in regards to booklength, but still I think you got some great choices there!
The TBR jar was definitely not my friend when it came to book lengths 😆 We do like a challenge… apparently!

Looks like some interesting books. Been a long time since I read a James Herbert book. I should read Ash to see what I think of his final book
It’s been a long time since I read a James Herbert as well, and I haven’t read that many to be honest. Which of his books have you read?
