How did you know that I was procrastinating?!? Lol! I have had a rough year, starting Feb 4th 2019 when I broke my back. My house got insanely out of control and dirty because I couldn't stand, sit, or walk for 8 months. Just lie down. So I have started the monumental task of decluttering, cleaning, and de-trashing my home and honestly videos like this help keep me motivated. I have a playlist where I'll go throw on declutter videos whilst I'm cleaning and it helps a lot! So thanks for putting in the hard graft for us!
A wise quote says "If you want to change your life,start with your drawers"..There is indeed a wonderful sense of relief following a decluttering process..
This was great! Something you said really resonated me and motivated me like no other has: “I love it but haven’t reached for it”. Knowing you can still love something but can get rid of it was like a lightbulb going off in my head. Other organizers have said, do you love it? ....keep it. Problem is I love everything I buy. So right away after watching this, I started on my clothes and doing so well. Please have more!!!!
"Restock" Freudian slip at the beginning😂. Classic. We all enjoy a bit of retail therapy. Watching this in September. Sadly, I did not see this earlier in the year when it was easy to get rid of clothing clutter. You don't know how hard I struggle with this. Thanks for doing this.

Two tips. 1- hang all your hangars backwards in closet then as you wear something turn hangar around. At end of season anything not turned around you get rid of. 2- rest of house if you haven't seen it or used it in a year get rid of. Hope this helps a bit. We went from 1400 sq ft home to a 400 sq ft home had to eliminate a lot.Now there is no room for extra things. Great video! Thanks once again

You kept me company while I did my own lockdown declutter today. If I wasn't sure about getting rid of something you motivated me as you was quite ruthless. I run a charity shop so I now have a big box full to take with me when I return to work. Buy the way we would recycle the swimming trunks we only put new ones out in the shop.😃
I just wish I could be like this, but I've let mine get so bad that I am overwhelmed and too scared to touch any of it. They went to the same school as me in Plumstead SE London.

I decluttered aweek ago, dropped the things off at the opshop, went inside and bought more! Not clothes, just beautiful bits and pieces, thank goodness!
I get what you mean about taking all the clothes out to declutter . I did it that way and just ended up with a huge mountain on the bed thinking what did I do this for lol. You really helped me. I went through my husband’s closet of shirts .He never takes anything out just slides them over and packs the new thing in. I am the one who has to clean out. He does just ware the ones in front 🤪 alway.

Watching some of your older videos I haven’t seen before. Of, course I’m loving them all!! I used to have a slight obsession with coats and jackets!! I had so many that I loved but found that at this stage in my life I’m pretty boring and wear 10% of my clothes 90% of the time and that includes outerwear! I pretty much stick to one coat during the whole season and as painful as it was I downsized many of them. I feel your pain, lol!!

Wow that was ruthless on the summer stuff!! You donated the red shirt from Denmark I thought was something crazy when I didn't know what it was!! Must admit I liked the cream shirt with the palm print on it though, was sad to see that go. I spent all day yesterday sorting my craft cupboard and gathering it all up from across the flat, I now have a ribbon drawer which is all sorted by colour!!! So satisfying!! 😊

Take comfort Mr.C…I reckon if we're honest we all have 'that' going on in our bathrooms😁 .The white spirit would live under my kitchen sink, but then I'd have to move the 10yr old tin of brasso, and quite frankly 'daaaahlink', this gal just cannot be bothered faffing about 🤭😜...and as for my clothes that have shrunk in the wash *cough* 🤐 as my Granddaughter says " Grandma's are supposed to be cuddly" 😇 lolol

I feel you with the leather jacket, I have a pink leather blouson jacket from the 80s I love it to pieces even though me cats back then loved it too with the little claw marks, would I bin it no way no how its too sentimental and besides its distressed vintage now lol
The best thing I ever did to keep my wardrobe under control was to buy 80 matching flocked hangers and get rid of all my other hangers. The matching ones hang neater on the rails and I know exactly how many I have, so I know that if I've bought new stuff and can't find a spare hanger to put it on I need to donate something.

Mr. Carrington, I just wanted to say thank-you for your de-clutter video today I got around to watching it. I wish I was as ruthless as you while clearing out the wardrobes, because at the moment I am starting to take over my sons wardrobes. Your bathroom is the same colour as my kitchen walls that dark grey, love, love, love it. You made me smile many times during the whole video. I am quite partial to Greg's sausage roll amd a coffee yum, have you tried their vegan sausage rolls, even though I am not vegan or vegetarian, I don't really eat alot of meat, but try the vegan sausage roll from Greg's it's really rather tasty, I have to wait until I go on holidays in England. As I live in Ireland now, Applegreen petrol stations sell them and they were the first in Ireland and they are nice. I wish I had shelves in my bathroom like you but there isn't any space like that to put in shelves.

When I purchase a clothing item, I take a deep breath and donate an item. This keeps my wardrobe manageable.
