Making a beehive has mom ever used a type of metallic rope or something shiny gold or with pearls just wondered. Our winters are so long here in Michigan I love everything you guys make!

I will definitely try this one. I made carrots using the same technique & DT skipping ropes as the template (with parchment too!) and they do look like carrots. I love all your bee hives. Now I'll have to start looking for little bees to add to them. Its so nice to have a fun hobby to share with your mom. My mother & I loved going to yard sales. She got me started when I first got my car as I was her chauffeur. She passed away 3 yrs ago & now yard sales are not the same without her as my co-pilot. Thanks again for sharing your creativity. If you spray your bowl or WHATEVER "form" you use with cooking spray or rub it with any kind of oil.....it will come free of parchment paper and other materials and also keep you from having to use a razor to remove your glue! Oh Misty and Sherry... I was SO EXCITED that you did this video. when I saw that you were using the half egg and one of you mentioned the small ones... I remembered all the plastic eggs I had. So I got them out, got my thin twine......but then your mother mentioned the waxed paper... ... I had run out of it and didn’t replace it yet. So being the IMPATIENT person that I am.... I grabbed the K-Cups that my husband got me by mistake... emptied the coffee and pulled the filter out and used that! It came out okay. As a former bee keeper's wife and partner in crime, I have to say I just love these. The egg shape, I think, are a little more authentic, but those were before my time. We just had little white boxes all over our pasture. I miss my honey bees! Very nice craft!

What a great idea. I have everything I need to make one. I have 4pkgs of the large nautical rope from the DT and didn't know what I was going to use it for. I am going to use my binder twine from my horse hay bales to make this Skep I have wanted a skep for a long time and have been trying to decide what to do with the twine.. Watching this just brought it all together for me thank you for the great idea

If you spray your bowl or WHATEVER "form" you use with cooking spray or rub it with any kind of oil.....it will come free of parchment paper and other materials and also keep you from having to use a razor to remove your glue!

Oh Misty and Sherry... I was SO EXCITED that you did this video. when I saw that you were using the half egg and one of you mentioned the small ones... I remembered all the plastic eggs I had. So I got them out, got my thin twine......but then your mother mentioned the waxed paper... ... I had run out of it and didn’t replace it yet.
So being the IMPATIENT person that I am.... I grabbed the K-Cups that my husband got me by mistake... emptied the coffee and pulled the filter out and used that!
It came out okay. But I need thicker twine, but it was good practice with the K-Cup!!! 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

As a former bee keeper's wife and partner in crime, I have to say I just love these. The egg shape, I think, are a little more authentic, but those were before my time. We just had little white boxes all over our pasture. I miss my honey bees! Very nice craft!
