imagine how many normal looking houses are hiding talent like this inside. I don't even usually like guitar soloing but damn, you make each bar somehow newly compelling
Dave officially became my all time favorite guitar master. You can see from the first 10 minutes of soloing that he feels each note with his heart, his eyes are looking into a blank space just him and his guitar. such a wonderful player.
Dave has a habit of playing a wonderfully melodic pure improv stream of musical consciousness that any musician would be pleased to have as an album track, and all demo’ing an amp. Astounding.
Welcome! Dave is an exceptional guitarist. Glad you found him. Tons of natural talent. I love the way he loses himself in his music when he's in the zone. Spectacular!
Imagine waiting your turn at the radiologist's ,and striking up a chat about Frusciante & Strats in general with the technician. When I showed him this vid , he scrambled for his own phone and subbed on the spot.
Everytime i watch one of Daves reviews i am like man that piece of gear sounds awesome i am going to buy it. Then i remember Dave is playing it, it cant sound bad.
Love this guy. His enthusiasm is contagious. I own a Stage Right Tube 15 which is identical to the Harley Benton and I have yet to crank up the volume to 10. It IS an amazing little amp and a great value. Others have reviewed this amp and I've heard various critiques but at some point they all start nitpicking different aspects of the amp such as "no name " tubes or that it needs a better speaker. Some even critique the textured plastic cloth covering (?). This guy is just enjoying what this amp brings to the table without being negatively critical. After all it's only $250. I guess some guitar purists just can't keep themselves from pursuing perfection even if you can't really hear it.
I've had the US version of this amp for a little over a year now. Sounds great with all types of guitars.. teles, strats, P90s, humbuckers. If you're on a budget and on the fence about getting one of these little amps don't hesitate you can't go wrong. I like mine so much I bought one for a friend.

I hope I can find some more examples of your music! I’ve got one of these amps on the way, so glad I ran into this video. Thank you Dave

I bought this Amp here in the US from Monoprice. I upgraded it with a pair of matched Tung-Sol EL84's, Tung-Sol Gold Pin 12AX7's. A Belton 3 spring Reverb Tank and finally a WGS Reaper 12" Speaker. The Amp was $225 US. I think I spent more on the upgrades. But the Amp sounds GREAT!
I have this amp and upon your recommendation, I will replace the reverb tank with a Belton 3 spring Reverb Tank. I have already replaced the tubes with Sov-Teks and it sounds amazing!
That intro jam soothed my love torn heart so much, thank you! And I love how people always turn to a SG for the AC/DC sound, yet Dave nails on a Strat! Sick video, I love it!

This is to my likes the best Intro I have ever heard on YT. For me as a beginner I can imagine how many tausend hours of practice it takes. Just to hear it is a huge gift for me 🙏. Thank you ❤️.
Damnit Dave! I'm so proud of you. Remained true to yourself and finally getting past that 50k mark you so deserve. Beautiful work as usual. I took your advice last year and bough the focusrite scarlet and started recording. I have been uploading the ideas. I just want to thank you for the encouraging comments you've left me!
I thought nobody would possibly come near Blackstar for disrupting the valve amp market but I think Harley Benton might give them a run for their money. At that price you could leave it in your buddy's garage for jamming while your favourite amp is reserved for home and/or gigging. Great video as always Dave, as other on your channel always comment, you show it really all is in the fingers!
I really appreciate the amount of info you pack into these reviews. Your breakdown of how the amp is insufficient for your needs with how you play live was very informative. I almost never ever see anyone on youtube review gear with that mind to how a player structures their sound. The nearest you get is someone commenting on how well an amp "cleans up on the volume". So while we get all this great playing from you, another thing we never see anyone on youtube do to this extent and with this variety, we also get tons of instruction on how to look at use by players. Just a goldmine of info Dave. Cheers.
Another thing that's easy to lose perspective of in these demo videos is how it sits in a mix, alot of the amps people complain about being too bright can keep you from getting buried in a live setting
I still wonder if this amp is any good at all. Know that Dave could take tissue paper and a comb and make it sound soulful. This is talent and soul and lots of hard dedication on the craft. You also have a tender heart, and share with us what and who matters in your life. I am grateful and enjoy that you share , thank you!
"He loves to put himself down, doesn't he" Ha ha. I know the feeling but it is the only non enjoyable bit of your vids for sure, mate, and I'm glad you've picked up on it. I really hope this doesn't sounds patronising or something but your videos are very enjoyable and fun and entertaining and the self criticism is really not needed. If you were so horrendous we wouldn't be watching. We've all been there though and it's a hard habit to break. Anyways, onwards and upwards and brilliant playing as usual!
I saw Harley Benton and had to drop by. Love listening to you play! You remind me a little bit of Robin Trower. I have been looking for an amp to replace my old practice amp. Thanks for the review.🤙🏆
Epic bends! If you run this (or the Monoprice Stage-Right) with an EQ pedal you can dial-out the slight midrange boxyness. Really makes this amp shine.
I've watched a few reviews of this amp now as I am in the market for one. I think it fair to say this is the most in-depth and really shows the amp off. The days of cheap gear sound cheap is over, whilst the big players in the market were busy making some forgettable products the littlest guys caught up. The tube 15 is a true hidden gem but because of musical snobbery it will stay that way. You could slap a marshall logo on this amp and no one would bat an eyelid
Was looking for HB Tube 15 review, and found out this video from Dave… Thank you so much Dave. Not only for your great review Dave (I guess I’m gonna buy this amp 😊), but also thank you for the spirit you put in your videos 👍❤️ Keep up Dave, I’m watching you 😉😊
The way you broke down the solo at 4:20 to jump back into the abyss at 5:05 was just perfect. You felt it, and so did we. You passed the feeling on perfectly.
Thanks for this video Dave mate. I just got one of these amps and it is exactly how you describe it. I just wish I didn't have to trawl through tons of review videos to find one with someone actually playing it in anger (so to speak). Anyway I got the amp, then low and behold your excellent video comes out. Your video tells us what the others do not, like the tone control setup etc.. First class video and playing my friend. Thanks again bro..
Thx for the review. The Harley Benton & Monoprice are same amp. HB is sold by Thomann [£200] in UK/EU & Monoprice [$250 ] is avail is the U.S. I've been considering getting one. As to the front end being overdriven, ya can replace the 1st gain stage with an 12AT7/ECC81. It has 40% less gain than the 12AX7/ECC83. I've used this trick to tame other overdriven preamps; with great success.
Reminds me of Before The Beginning by John Frusciante. And it's best thing you can hear from me, because nothing ever stood even close to that masterpiece for me. Came for the amp, staying bewitched by your playing. Amazing
omg Dave...just YESTERDAY i found this amp on thomann...and as i dont have much budget, and always wanted to try an valve amp i was really considering this one...and i was thinking in my head "oh that would be so nice if Dave would do a video with this thing"...and there you go...thank you so much man

My Harley Benton Tube 15 is perfect, I swapped Chinese Tubes in it for the Russian ones (thank goodness they are cheap for me as I from Russia and can by them at producer prices in Saint Petersburg) and it's perfect now. I've sold my Tiny Terror cause this amp with the new tubes does exactly the same but with more versatility on the equalizer section, plus effects loop, plus reverb. I'm so happy with this amp. A can't express how grateful I am to you Dave and to this video. I even got Marshall Origin 20 head and this little baby still sounds amazing. Marshall doesn’t have reverb as well and a love real springs in an amp. And what's most important - this Tube 15 baby is perfect for a flat!
you know you have your own style when a person tell who you are by one bent note. I was working away in the kitchen when this video started automatically after the another show I had running. I couldn't see it but thought " well, that sounds quite nice". Then around 30 seconds in, I heard a high maybe G note and then a bend up to another G note (I think) with vibrato, & I knew exactly who I was listening to. Alway a pleasure to listen to!!
Fantastic playing once again, Dave! Harley Benton made a combo amp for a couple of years called the VT30. Henning did a video on it. Fantastic sounding amp for less than $400.
Date, I'm a bit late to the party but wot a great review! I've ordered this amp and can't wait for it to arrive. Sold a Fender Champion 100 coz didn't like the size, loved the sound, it had to go. Was pro for 47 years......but now just love playing in my studio and don't need the high volume. By the, for all new guys, buy ear defenders, use them at all live gigs. You do not want tinnitus like I've got. Nice to see and hear a review that takes the time to explain and demonstrate the item. Looking forward to creating some great stuff when this baby arrives. Be in touch.
Harley Benton gear is starting to get quite a lot of attention these days, their 2x12 cabs are supposed to be the dogs dangly bits by all accounts so I'm not surprised by the Tube 15. Fantastic playing as always Dave.
Harley Benton are producing some nice gear at amazing prices. Your neighbours must be either deaf, or they must hate you! Awesome noodling as always, Dave.
Oh yeah! These little tube monsters ... just a few valves and an output transformer ... very direct and dynamic sound ... I'm a great fan of these small amps and thus not surprised about this great tone ... well, except Dave could do this on any amplification-type device! Great DIY-axe by the way ... Thanks a lot for sharing.
I've now seen several reviews of this amp where the presenter gets ecstaticly lost in their playing. Ya gotta love gear that inspires you to keep playing and go for one more lick. And one more. And one more. And ... . Great review, great playing.
I recently went and bought the new Harley Benton frfr speaker for my digital rig. It is a absolute monster powered speaker, packed full of features..for 200 quid. Life is just great these days.

@@SisterRose Dunno why it's so hard to just respect the differences between tube and solid state amps and learn to use both tastefully. We all know a deluxe reverb sounds good, a jc-120 sounds good, but it's apples and oranges
This is to my likes the best Intro I have ever heard on YT. For me as a beginner I can imagine how many tausend hours of practice it takes. Just to hear it is a huge gift for me 🙏. Thank you ❤️.
Came here for the amp, but got some awesome vibes. Awesome job dude. Awesome touch on the plank and the room setup!
This just came up on my feed. I was looking for reviews on this amp and found Dave! 4 years on I still follow you, but I sold the amp. How time flies.
New fan, found you last nite, your freaking awesome .....
That gold Winchester repeater on the wall 😍
Thas the best intro jam I've heard you play Dave. Its always good, but that was superb.
I know I've said it before, but you are a ridiculously good player! Most enjoyable. Thanks for such a musical insight into this amp.
It’s all in the fingers...once again, you prove that it’s true
I still wonder if this amp is any good at all. Know that Dave could take tissue paper and a comb and make it sound soulful. This is talent and soul and lots of hard dedication on the craft. You also have a tender heart, and share with us what and who matters in your life. I am grateful and enjoy that you share , thank you!
that intro jam is amazing i love the tone reminded me often of Maggot Brain
"He loves to put himself down, doesn't he" Ha ha. I know the feeling but it is the only non enjoyable bit of your vids for sure, mate, and I'm glad you've picked up on it. I really hope this doesn't sounds patronising or something but your videos are very enjoyable and fun and entertaining and the self criticism is really not needed. If you were so horrendous we wouldn't be watching. We've all been there though and it's a hard habit to break. Anyways, onwards and upwards and brilliant playing as usual!
The bedroom lick remains my favorite jam piece ever😍
I saw Harley Benton and had to drop by. Love listening to you play! You remind me a little bit of Robin Trower. I have been looking for an amp to replace my old practice amp. Thanks for the review.🤙🏆
Epic bends! If you run this (or the Monoprice Stage-Right) with an EQ pedal you can dial-out the slight midrange boxyness. Really makes this amp shine.
Love your playing, wish you had a coffee mug in your merchandise for sale.
There's some really good sound in that little amp.
Absolutely beautiful could listen to you play all night long
Sometimes my little amps I have more fun trying to get different sounds out of everything and I have fun your music is just awesome
MEGA! Great home amp for not a lotta dough. Great playing - loved the heavy stuff on the LP style guitar.
Thank you very much. :)
Was looking for HB Tube 15 review, and found out this video from Dave… Thank you so much Dave. Not only for your great review Dave (I guess I’m gonna buy this amp 😊), but also thank you for the spirit you put in your videos 👍❤️
Keep up Dave, I’m watching you 😉😊
The way you broke down the solo at 4:20 to jump back into the abyss at 5:05 was just perfect.
Amazing
Kinda reminds me also of Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
omg Dave...just YESTERDAY i found this amp on thomann...and as i dont have much budget, and always wanted to try an valve amp i was really considering this one...and i was thinking in my head "oh that would be so nice if Dave would do a video with this thing"...and there you go...thank you so much man
Heyyy Dave that was just feel like my heart blowing out my body and cry my eyes out respect Dave and do many more of your songs and intro jams thanks you my friend 💪🏽💪🏽👊🏽✌🏼✌🏼😎
Those wah breaths at around 6:30 are flipping perfection. Sick
Which name on that russian tubes 🤔Iv got a russian contact in ST Petersburg 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow Dave, you sound great! I felt the emotion in this.
you know you have your own style when a person tell who you are by one bent note. I was working away in the kitchen when this video started automatically after the another show I had running. I couldn't see it but thought " well, that
sounds quite nice".
Wonderful profound guitar soloing ….. you really made this amp sings 👍🏻
Great jam brother! Enjoy your vids a lot!
Great phrasing and vibrato mate... Love to hear your playing
Sweeeeet vibrato, just ahead of a minute in. This intro is just incredible.
Great set up you got going. The sounds are perfect to me. That amp sounds like it was made for you. Wicked amp.
Lots of positives about being a bachelor! Lucky dude.
Well, you don't need an amp to sound good, and you are even interesting without a guitar. Just keep doing what you're doing and great days will come!
definitely hearing gilmore, hendrix, vai and i'm sure a few others, this was the best demo i've ever heard!
Sub'd! Get it, Dave! Boy you got the guitar face down good! Reminiscent of ol Skydog! And he's my absolute favorite.
That's what I'm talkin about! The music just keeps gettin better!
