(How To Make Soft & Spongy Pumpkin Steamed Roses Mantou)

Ingredients
(6 pcs of rose buns)
(A)
1. 70g peeled pumpkin
(B)
1. 3g instant yeast
2. 5g caster sugar
3. 45g warm water
(C)
1. 190g bao flour (can be replaced with all purpose flour)
2. 30g caster sugar
3. 1/2 tsp baking powder
4. 15g soften butter
Steamed the buns in high heat for 12 minutes.
Made today, very soft. At first when the dough is very sticky, I keep on adding flour and thought it won't be so soft. Surprisingly it turn out Great. Tks for the recipe.

Hi Kai Ling, suggest you may shred some pumpkin, or chop some pumpkin into small pieces and mix into the dough. Hope this will help you to make your bao more pumpkin flavour. 😊💕🍀

Hi, Meiyi, thanks I am fine, yes you still can do this without the pumpkin, then it is going to be white roses, also very nice. Water need to adjust to 90ml. You may have a look at my another video call super soft chicken & egg steam bun too.Remember to follow all the steps carefully. Just now my friend try did this, but she didn't follow some steps exactly, so at the end the bao skin is not so nice. Have a good try!!

Your work is beautiful! Can I skip the baking powder ?
Hi Jasline Kam, you may skip the baking powder, but worry that the bao might not be that fluffy, since baking powder help the bao to rise better when it is steaming in the pot.

Hi Jordan, yes you may remove pumpkin, replace with more warm water to 90ml. No need to add more flour. 😊
