Very nice clear review, just missing on the laptop sleeve. I am ordering the same bag in the next couple days. I am also using the Peter McKinnon 25L. that bottom loop I don't like that it is not retractable. I like your battery packs, where did you get them? Thank you for sharing this great review!
I think your referring to the box batteries. Here’s the link amzn.to/4415C2t if you mean the one for the zv1 ii let me know and I’ll post the link
Is this better than the Peter McKinnon bag? I’m in search of a good bag
@@gabolujan3109 I have the PM 25l bag so that’s what I can compare it to. It’s actually a good comparison since this is also the 25l. There’s features that I like in both bags. I can fit more into this bag, the shoulder strap with the area to put a capture clip is much better and easier to use, I like the way this one opens up in the back way better than the PM bag. PM bag stands up way easier and better than this one.
This bag looks awesome and looks comfortable to wear. Right now I’m using the brevite which is nice , but looking for something more sturdier, might have to give this one a try! 😁
I have the Brevite as well and I love that bag for super lightweight carry
love this review! I'm debating on getting the 20L vs the 25L. do you mind sharing how tall you are as a reference?
Hi and thank you! I’m so happy that you stopped by to watch. I’m 5’4. Hope that helps. I have to say that this bag is very comfortable on.
Thank you for your video. I actually got my black 25L and your walkthrough was helpful in reminding me of the bags features. I actually own several larger Explorer V2 and even an Explorer V1 bag but plan to use this for my smallest travel kit now that it’s arrived. It would nice if Shimoda published an online PDF manual. Do you know if they have one? Every bag is a compromise and none are perfect but this is a great addition to the family. Take care.
@@stevenwaldstein2249 thanks for watching and commenting. I don’t know if they have an online manual but they do have a TH-cam channel where the shorts have a bunch of the bags features. Hope that helps and enjoy your bag!
Saw them at WPPI, love their bags. The laptop sleeve is actually in the front of the bag, they show it on the kickstarter video and showed me at WPPI. Not sure how well it will balance with a 16" laptop in the front vs the back like all the other bags.
I’m gonna have a video out in the upcoming weeks on how it was to travel with this bag. Standing on its own is one of the things that I go over.
Hi Amy, great video. I would love to know is it stands by itself
Hi and thanks for watching! I’m actually making a video on my first big travel with it and this is one of the points in my video. To answer your question, yes and no. Depends on how “packed” you have it. The lighter it is, then it may stand on its own. It still takes some finessing to get it to though. It’s not like you can just plop it down and it will stand. Takes some gentle placing and rocking back and forth. This was a huge bummer to me.
@@AmesWay thank you so much for the prompt reply. That is such a bummer and one of the main reasons I stopped using my peak design. Was just falling everywhere unless I carefully placed it against the wall, tables etc.
I’m tossing over this and the Tena Axis which does stand on it own but this just looks so nicer and less boxy. Will definitely look out for your next video on this.
@@visionreal888 I have the Nomatic PM bag as well and that one does stand on its own but not sure if your into that one.
I was so looking forward to this bag, but I’m considering selling it. The rear sleeve of the 25L doesn’t even fit a 12.9 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard and pencil. 🤦♂️ And I’m an iPad Pro guy, so that’s my main device. I don’t want to put it in the front of the bag, but it does fit there. I feel like the front sleeve is better for documents.
I do believe the front sleeve is the actual laptop sleeve and the back could be for tablets. I’ve really been loving my bag. I think it’s one of the most comfortable bags that I’ve tried. I’m sorry that you aren’t loving yours.
@@AmesWay I’m gonna try and make it work. I’ve been using the Boundary Supply Errant X-Pac for years, so every bag gets compared to that.
in the uk we need to wait till 12th march before ours get shipped :( feels like such a long time ago that I backed this lol
You’re gonna love it when you get it though. It really comfortable on. I’m going to be traveling with it tomorrow to Australia 🇦🇺
I'm debating between this one or a Peter Mckinnon which one would you recommend if you just had to choose one?
@@arunsh it depends on what matters to you. Both are great bags and hold a ton of gear. If you want the bag to stand up on its own then go with the PM bag. If you want the bag panel to open short ways rather than long ways then go with the Shimoda. I’ve been using the Shimoda more lately. I find the shoulder straps to be a bit more comfortable and I like the back opening a lot more. The PM bag is great tho and I’ve used it for years. I love that it stands up on its own.
@@AmesWay Sure! Will keep that in mind :)
