It's not a shopping addiction, you're a treasure hunter and we all love a good bargasm! 😆 Great collection, but your boots! Only got a teasy peek, they look amazing! All the best to Doris and team 💜
Hi Katherine. The boots are new and are vegan. It was an impulsive online purchase. Tried to find the email confirmation because I can’t remember the name. If & when I find it- I will follow up. Happy holidays. Be well and be safe. Doris
Claude Montana was channeling those wonderful wool gab dress coats that were popular in the 40's and 50's, I have found a few over the years and they are always snapped right up, such a delicious silhouette.
Interesting that you mention using the D&G shoes as bookends. I recall an interview with designer Betsy Johnson describing how she used candy colored vintage silk slips as curtains (interview was in her home so one could see it)! I have multicolored block printed aprons as window dressing in my kitchen because I saw that interview and love it as an idea. Its a great idea to use vintage items that you love but can't/won't wear as home decor.
Spot on pronunciation of the Wiener Werkstätte :) It's the kind of piece you would see on a historic cover of Vogue, but you'd never expect to find it anywhere for purchase. So beautiful, I'm stunned. Same with the 70s jumpsuit, omg...
The green Claude Montana is the perfect cottage-core coat! Loved the Anne Fogarty dress and Chanel train case too. i can soo imagine those D&G platforms as bookends! Another inspiring video Doris! thanks to you and the team.
That Green Dress.... 😲😲😲 You know? Even if I'm a straight guy, that cottom green dress got me to heights of appreciation. I hope my daughters wear something like that some day.
Oh my gosh I am laughing so hard. It's the endorphins. The thrill of the hunt too. I also love watching someone put on a garment and seeing the awaking of something in their spirit. A light goes on and they are in touch with a private energy that runs deep with in. Nothing tops that.
Seeing that 1930s satin gown took me back to my teenage years. Back in the 1970s I used to shop only at op shops (here in Australia that is an “opportunity shop” now called charity shops) and I LIVED in cheesecloth of course but also silk & satin bias cut nightdresses from the 30s as dresses. No bra of course. It helped that I grew up in a famous beach tourist area, a “surfy chick” but I was still considered “out there” with my clothing choices especially by my mother & grandmothers. They just didn’t get it but those nightdresses were so beautiful & felt divine on.
Thank you for posting. Missed you on TH-cam. You seem a bit distant. Hope you are feeling well and God Bless. Looking forward to visiting your store once the craziness is over.
I know, I'm thinking the same thing! I'm watching thinking "you okay, boo?" Take care of you first ! I know it must be stressful for many business owners at this time
