I am thinking about a 60 Gallon cube & I want to get a GFO & Carbon reactor, and a Bio-Pellet reactor, Can I connect them all together? In what order should they be?
Hey BRS, I just bought the brs biopellet reactor a month or so ago, as well as switched over to leds. I started off my leds on very low power coming over from power compacts. At first I thought by lights were frying my corals. Now Im pretty sure the biopellets are crashing my tank. I have about a 80 gallon overall system with a 46 gallon bowfront. I started off with 3/4 of a cup of biopellets. All of my corals have no polyp extension and are starting to bleach out.
Anyway of connecting this or something like it to a canister filter? I have a 54g corner tank so no sump room underneath. I run 2 canisters and clean them out once a month (alternatively every 2 weeks).
Guanglei Liu.. you may need to slightly enlarge the opening of the canister on the bottom screen of it..use a thin screwdriver to slightly pry the screen apart trying not to break it helping it to lessen the restriction
Im now sure its not my lights but should I instantly stop biopellets, my levels have always been pretty low if not indetectible so I was not too worried about cmpletely stripping nutrients but now I dont know what to do. Immediately stop biopellets or drastically reduce them to about a 1/4 cup or wait and see. Im freaking out thinking I have crashed my tank
Mag drive is def better option but if u get the new maxijet1200 that come in the black box as shown in this video it seems to b a little stronger than the older maxijet 1200... It says it's the same gph but the impeller in the newer versions is def larger n a bit of a stronger flow....If u pull out both impellers u will see the difference because the new impeller will not fit in the old maxijet... It's longer n fatter n different color.... I'm using the new maxijet 1200 n it's working great...
I just bought a BRS Biopellet Reactor and biopellets for my 130g total volume system. I added 2 cups up biopellets to the reactor as per the instructions(actually per instructions it should be about 2 1/2 cups). But several people are telling me I should pull half or more out and only start out with like a half cup and add more every few weeks. Saying that me adding the total volume in the instructions will crash the tank. Please let me know the correct procedure.
+BulkReefSupplyCom I just upgraded from a 60g w/20g sump to a 90g w/40g sump. In the 60 I was fighting high nitrates, switched it over to the 90 and they are about 80ppm. Right now I just have 2 fish, a true perc and a tomini tang. For corals I only have some mushrooms here and there. If I should pull some pellets out can they just be towel dried and kept to be put back in later?
I have the brs carbon reactor can I use it for biopellets? Looks the same as in the video minus the filter media.

Hi I am using the MJ1200 pump, but it seems not powerful enough to tumble the pellets. Any suggestion?

Would a mj1200 pump work on the brs bio pellet reactor well?
Let's see some more of the jumbo reactors in stock. The Reef Octopus is nice, but it just doesn't compare to the wall mount.

Hey brs! Where can I get that thread x push connect fitting? Thanks in advance.
This is why I love Brs. That's exactly the one!
this video answer my question great video thanks!!!! i have the black version of that canister from BRS!!!
This video have a 9 Year or more , somebody function de biopellets reactor ?
3:08, so true. Done that a couple times:(
google brs gfo mod. Simple fix with 3/4" pvc and some pvc mesh from Michaels. Their design is not optimal for pellets.
Buy nice, not twice!
