Well folks this isn't how my birthday and this weekends biking trip was supposed to go , after a really awkward finger injury and awkward as in it's hard to fix the near future plans have had to be put on hold , it's one of those injuries where a break would of been better but on the upside i'm going to see the plastic surgeon on Sunday to start the recovery process .
so just a quick sorry to every1 that we'd planned on meeting this weekend as the whole thing as now been cancelled due to my hospital appointment .

Mate had the same injury on his thumb and after a few ops he’s back to normal.
I had to rescue the missing bit of his thumb

Sorry to hear about yourj pinky damage, hope all goes well and you’re riding asap. Do what the medics say,you will be back on a bike before you know it. I had a hand op since then my pinkie has been at a 45% to the rest of my fingers, doesn’t hurt but a bitch trying to put gloves on and if I wash my face just with my hands I often finger my nose😊 get well soon .
Ouch that sounds terrible. I think we all want to see you on the back of Faye’s bike for your tour 🫣. Hope you have a quick recovery. If you need someone to ride the BSA let me know. 😁

You could have done with a nicer birthday present for sure but it'll work out just fine as I think you have enough time for a decent recovery before your trip. As you say, a dct machine definitley would be a good option now.

Did something similar years ago, at work, I remember then the sight of it nearly made me pass out, especially when the bandages first came off, yuk ! Best of luck for a good recovery.

Let the finger go you'll probably recover quicker, I've had 2 of 3 shoulder tendons reattached with excellent recovery and done a tendon in the hand on glass and I've been working unimpeaded ever since.

Keep positive buddy. A friend took 2 fingers off unclogging a mower many years ago. He ended up losing two fingers but has ridden motorcycles ever since circa 1981. Hope they can get you out of pain soonest. Fay will spoil you

Hey I have a similar issue ,I’m going into Macclesfield hospital next Monday for hand surgery, on an old injury, going to take me off the bike for 8 weeks , I treated myself to a new triumph 1200 xe for my 60 th what with the weather and now this I haven’t really ridden it , it’s a bummer mate but let’s see what occurs and listen to the docs . Terrible news that Shaun. Difficult with an injured little finger. I tore tendons in mine playing cricket. Took 2 years to fully mend. Bugger! As my old Fabrication Teacher at Derby Tech used to say….never put your fingers where you wouldn’t put your privates. 😉. Best wishes for a quick and full recovery. 👍

What a 2024 you're having, i'm gutted for ya mate, and hope the whole process goes as quick and painless as possible. Keep your head up, and your temper down... I hope you're not like me, who gets shirty and bad tempered when my mobility is restricted through health issues.

Oh dear Lord, you poor fellar. I feel ur pain. Sweet divine, between da mince pie and other things, it’s been a toughie for you. Don’t worry Shaun bout any tours etc, they’ll come round again. Your lotto buddy is your Health, facttttt… no. 1 is top priority. I did summit similar many yrs ago with blade on a machine, don’t ask me how but after a long number of weeks da lil piece more or less grew or came back 90%. Trust in da powers of surgery and recovery.

Hi Shaun, Happy Birthday mate, Gutted for you ,I dread to think how it happened and I can't imagine what your going through. I wish you the best with your hospital treatment you will be in good hands ( I'm saying the puns now ) I've had my fair share of hospitals this week. Last weekend I had to take my Dad to hospital with bad chest pains to find out he had a heart attack, My Dad was treated in Wrexham before being transferred by ambulance to the Cardio Care Unit at Glan Clwyd hospital , Bodelwyddan near St Asaph just off the A55 he came home on Thursday he is doing ok just tiered, he is 80 next month.
I am gutted you can't use the bike for a while as long you can get out and about , I suppose the car can be useful. Hope your treatment goes well take care of your selves catch you soon

Oh crap…..that’s really bad news….so sorry Shaun about this news…..chin up mate….I know it’s a bummer, but these rides will still be there….and yeah, some might laugh at DCT….but if it was not for that, on my NC750….I’d not be riding, my left wrist being damaged from 43 years ago….now I can ride and have fun…..sure all will be fine, I know it’s hard right now……but give it time…..you will be back in the saddle….cheers mate
Hey that sounds really painful how did you manage that work related?it might seem trivial to some people till you try doing the simplest thing like tying shoe laces.
It'll be OK in a few weeks. Honest in a few months you won't even remember somethings different.

As an aside, you met my son at Bill Smith’s picking up his new BSA Goldstar 650 this morning. As soon as he described you I knew it was you. Small world. I’ve been following your channel for some time and really enjoy it. Like your missus I have a Honda Rebel 500 which I recently downsized from a SFV650 Gladius due to tippy toeing becoming too painful caused by arthritis in my feet. (I’m a 75 year old shorty). Wish you both well, keep doing your vlogs and stay safe.
