Excellent video! It looks like the top right word on the music scan is Strathdon. That's the township where the Lonach Games are held. About 10 miles south of Huntly. I've been going there every year for years, and I didn't know that Alick C (one of the best reels) is from. 👍🏻
The roundnes of today may be have something to do with irish music but the roundness was always there, today mainly preserved in Cape Breton. The pointed being a 20th century thing.
The composer died young because he was gassed in the First World War and died from lung cancer in 1929. And no, it's not wrong to ploay the tune more cut.
