If you find pumpkins, even if there a couple bad spots or a little crushed, you can cook them in your instant pot for your dogs and cats. I freeze the purée if they have tummy problems and/or diarrhea. Works great for those problems and you can use it for baking 😊
Exactly! I just cut out the bad parts in any veggie I have . I have had problems wirh bugs eating just a bite of my tomatoes so I just cut the bug bite part out and use the rest of the tomatoe! No need to throw it out!

I know you're not a meat eater, Amy but it just really frosts me that so much chicken etc. is thrown away. It is so darn expensive. Well, along with everything else, but chicken and beef are very expensive. I am glad you are able to save what you can and either freeze for future, or feed dogs and cats (and FD) or share with others. It baffles the mind to think how much is thrown and not discovered by DD. So sad. Congrats on the pie for your birthday. It is my birthday today. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I will be having apple turn overs for my birthday treat.
I can’t believe FD threw away that gorgeous pumpkin. Someone else may have been happy to get it. I just paid $25 for mine, and that one was prettier. Even if there was something wrong in a spot on it, it still would make great soup or pumpkin pie, not to mention baked seeds with salt on them. Yum!

Strawberries! Those are a "winter fruit" in Israel and are SO expensive. Eat them fresh, with honey vanilla yogurt, and put them in shakes. Enjoy!

I always add in my head while you go over the haul. You guys save well over a grand each month.

Have you ever canned meat in jars. We did it and it’s fabulous. We added carrots and onion to jars.
