I saw the videos for this pedal after I bought the new CHUG pedal from Solar guitars. I hope I made a good decision. They both sound great for what they do, and yes I'm aware they each go for a different pallete of sounds
Does anyone have any thoughts on how the SLO pedal compares to the SLO simulation in the Line6 Helix? A head-to-head would be interesting, for all of us who can't afford the real thing (or would get arrested for the volume level...).

Not one example dry without delay? I'd say someone has an addiction LOL. Seriously, please at least provide a dry sample, AND why not a DI sample going straight into recording interface with IR's? So less delay, more variety of samples inside a 10-minute video.

Just got one of these and it sounds better with a Boss SD-1 in front of it. Otherwise it's a bit flubby. Not a fan of the deep switch. Pedal could also be a bit quieter noise-wise. Also, this isn't a good example of an amp-in-the-box pedal. It can't really serve as a preamp. It's a distortion box, more than anything else. (I used a late 60's Bassman amp). Anyway, in the end I really dig it. It was worth the $180USD I paid for it, and definitely gets the lead tone I was looking for.
I’m a fan of steve lukather’s TONE. Since i dnt hv the money for the real Soldano amp, i can only afford this pedal. Need to save $ for this analog pedal though i already have the Neural DSP Soldano SLO 100 and the Neural DSP Archetype Tim Henson.
I've played this pedal and the Soldano Slo 30 head. The head is better but this pedal plays with a lot of harmonics and sounds just as good as the Friedman BE pedal but a bit different.
If I have a Line 6 Amplifi amp and 2 Spark amps and an old HiWatt head and an old Crate Blue VooDoo and Marshall etc… and distortion and overdrive pedals… do I NEED this too? 😉 My gut response is YES! 😂🤘🎸👍

The SLO pedal sounded great! The Andertons review of this had me thinking it wasn't that good. Usually love what those guys do, but their review was dumpster fire. I wonder if the hot pickups in that Kiesel, or running through the Fender head made the difference.
To be fair, they were running it through a completely differently voiced amp with greenbacks, no surprise that it sounded much more mid focused. When they ran it through the SLO clean channel with the same v30 cab, I thought it was really really close.
Wow! Love the idea. With a 9-volt power supply, how many micro amps are required? Some pedals specify 100mA, 300mA etc. Or does it even matter? Id Est, I know some of my pedals require the 300mA and will not work with a 100mA power supply.

I was shocked at the gain sound with the gain knob at zero. Seems like a great way to get nice gain sound and save a few thousand bucks in the process

better or worse than the EVH 5150 Overdrive? got one the other day and kinda hate it. very fizzy.
I agree had a 5150 pedal it had a weird high end zing I didn't like and couldn't dial out!
@@markbois1713 i’ve tweaked it a bit today to get it where it’s usable. mids and treble down with bass up. still not great, but better.
5150s only work on 666. if it doesn't sound good on that setting its FUBAR

I don't understand the point... If this is the "amp", then why plug it into an amp? How would it sound plugging it right into a PA?
