14:40 As a person who started again 4 times chenga is super important but not for exp, if you use this and with 10-2 crystals of vision u can discover nodes from 300-400 meters which is really useful for navigation especially for adventure logs

when it comes to questing i enjoyed a lot doing everything on my main until i realized some quests/chains can't be started/progressed/finished on the same character because some will appear only on your first character and others on second and the order is determinated by the order of those characters being created so now i have 2 main chars of the same class with a quite empty quest logs apart from repeats.
i really love the questing BDO has and especially those hidden quests/chains that span across severall characters also the BDO lore is good and i enjoyed it a lot

I also just started playing bdo about 3 weeks ago, I agree most things Krono said. It is hard to absorb all the information that a veteran already knows. This game has been around for way too long and there’s tons of catch-up to do. I hope the company could streamline the new player experience more cause this is genuinely the best combat system of all MMOs I’ve played.

Jorden is the lord in Heidel who eventually gets possessed I guess because he decides to basically side with the Shadow nights and hates Caplheon so much that he basically sold his soul to get his victory over Calpheon . I mean it’s allot more to the story then this just trying to give a basic simple answer to your who’s Jorden question lol. I actually enjoy the lore just wish there wasn’t so many things left unanswered in the story. I am hoping when they rework it the fill in all the missing pieces.

Blue or anyone else in the comments, on the topic of staying on season for a little while longer to make progress early on - Should I as a returning/fairly new player graduate my main to make a scholar on season for the rewards? Or is it okay for me to skip/leave her for later - I'm having a tough time deciding cuz I still got some grinding to do on my main before its set for Jetina gears and such post grad.

New player mistake: I just got back after 6 years, on a brand new account, started farming for HP infinite potion, and a friend of mine said "Go farm blood wolves, but you will be annoyed because there is an eye called "Kagtum" that will bait you into thinking its a piece but its just trash". 70 Pity pieces in and 20 kagtums later, I read the tooltip and found out they are worth 400 mil each, that I just vendored for 1 mil each
i had a steam account but i don't know if i actually did the transfer to pearlabyss all those years ago, how would i go about checking that? is there no other real way other than redownloading the game to find out?

The thing I wish I had known when I first started BDO was that I shouldn't do anything but main story until I get through it, because if you do any other quests you will absolutely level up way too fast and the monsters won't aggro on you. I almost quit BDO until I finished the Serendia storyline and got to Calpheon, because the game was so dull. It's not just that I beat the enemies easily, they wouldn't aggro, they all died in one shot, it was so dull. Then I got to the Anti-Troll Fortification north of Calpheon and the trolls names were green. Since then the game was fun again.
A lot of the time, even the enemies I one-shot are still more fun just because they actually come running at me first.
If I wanted to level up way too fast I'd ask someone to powerlevel me, right? What's the point of having a story and boss monsters if they all die in one hit? In Balenos, at least the bosses were sort of a fight. In Serendia, even the bosses mostly died in one hit, or under ten.
Back when i was new i deleted a map piece because the description was to vague 😂

i wish most quests would be family shared, those who want to grind quests can do dailies
3 novice season is kinda nuts but there is Marni. The 3rd novice should be a reg season imo especially if ppl are just going to not graduate and stay.

Most embarrassing moment for me is I sold my sulfur mine map piece to a vendor......and deleted the 2nd one bc I didn't know what "a map of an unknown piece" was for. I just liked grinding sulfur and didn't have inv slots for trash and scrolls.

13:40 You don't have to be 53 to complete the Chenga Quest because you literally fight nothing. I started with Winter Mountain in Duvencrune and as soon as I got done with the memory cutscenes, I immediately abandoned it to do Chenga first, then returned to the MQL. You are already in the right location to start Chenga and it is easy peasy. If you don't have a horse, Duvencrune has the best wild horses in the game.

There's 2 main reasons why people do not read in BDO.
1 - The in-game FONT is fucking atrocious, it's SO BAD to read. We want to make the UI smaller but this indie game makes all fonts smaller too, it's stupid that the game does not have a font scale option.
2 - Too much useless information. 70% of all items description could be deleted.

They nerfed seasonal trash loot drops with the timefilled black stones and there is no tuvala ore either now so its literaly pointless to stay on season IF youre goal is to make more money, but there are other reasons that a new player would want to stay there. BUt definitely and sadly not because of gucci money from timefilled trash
I believe it still worth it you can exchange thsoe timefilled to Fs, Valk cry and Loot scroll so yeah its still worth it to stay if you want

how do i turn my valk scrolls into silver?
You will need a lot of them later on for getting better (above 100) stacks and then you can use them to tap your gear or you use the valks to tap lower tier items and sell them straight up

I don't think you can exchange time filled stones for valk. Now fughar only trades beginner stones for these.

Blue you still aren't very good at pvp or the game in general at the level a lot of players are, so might want to give a disclaimer you might be projecting. Learning combos help you learn your class, and people do enjoy learning what they are doing early, and not just button mashing. Understanding you start with your buff skills is bdo 101, and while it might not be for fogans you get in the habit of that, and get in the habit of using the key combos. Now with the class boosts in damage a lot of people might go straight to elvia where that does matter more. Guess it all depends on how you enjoy the game but being lazy about it we are setting ourselves behind quite a bit. Being stubborn is so rough though. I'm shit and I can't get myself to commit to learning often, takes a while, wish I had started earlier. Done things that tested that like PVP or Pit to help me develop that.

Doing Blitz Bosses helped me tremendously.
@@quintyss1290 Yes, and this is what I meant, single target solo bosses that are specifically made to help you nail your combos, and learn protections, because you have such limited windows to get all your damage out. BB also gives you a timer to show you progress.
I am quite good at PvP. I am not a top fragger by any means but I review vods for every class in the game, shoutcast, shotcalled for years, taught players how to play the game, and have worked with them from the ground up. My experience comes from years of understanding how new players act and what helps them stay with the game. Its not about being lazy with it. You are speaking from a veteran player's perspective who has lost sight of the early magic of the game. New players are captivated by the cool skills and animations. They should be using the skills that make them feel good. Efficiency is the last thing they need to worry about early on. As they want to get more invested they can move to a combo as I laid out very clearly.

I started at around Covid time and mostly been just playing random pve, and life skill as I get alternative incomes built up, and have just started treating PVP and PVE somewhat seriously. That is what I am saying is that I wish I had spent more time developing and focusing on combos and such rather than button mashing. You are great at a lot of things about this game, but pvp isn't something you do much whether 1v1 or AOS, or BA, and you might pin it on the fact you play witch but lets be real man.
We aren't talking about the team of large or small scale you can kite from the back.
You aren't a BA rat, and you generally stay away from being isolated against anything, including boss rush, pit, etc.
Your comedy is built around your failing at these things and that can be hilarious.
Maybe we see your PVP arc? Until then you pass blame on class or the million other issues, and laugh. There is something to be said for the people that are capable of playing at higher levels that are good at PVP potentially doing everything but spending the attention to play the game and learning the fundamentals from the onset vs one that blames everything but themselves and constantly rerolls or blames it on gear or whatever.
I wouldn't guess to understand the first kind, as they probably would get tired of the system for different reasons than we experience. There certainly is place for those of us that don't do what it takes to optimize our play and settings and just have fun doing whatever, but I feel like had I joined a guild, got straight into NW, and pvp and learned a class, I would have enjoyed things a lot more. But then again not sure my ADHD ass would have allowed that either.
