Saw it last weekend on Shudder. Yes, beautifully photographed (as always) but a little boring during the middle. Nice twist at the end, though. Yes, Christopher Lee was great for subtlety in his acting. He knew how to work the camera. Thing is, I've never really found him that scary, despite his height.

Lee is was more charming on film than anything else. I agree with you that he's not scary.

Love Bava and definitely enjoy this film. I would highly recommend listening to any commentary by Tim Lucas who is a Bava expert and has a huge novel based on him. Tim has so much information in his commentaries.

I'll definitely have to look into that. I've gotten really deep into Bava recently and want to learn as much as I can. Thanks for the recommendation!

Most of Bava's movies are great. Ahead of his time, genius.

It's not the best Bava film, but still a solid one.
