What a great gift for your mom! So glad you're using one of my templates to create a gift for her. It's a great memory for me, too. It's almost 2 years since I lost my mom. She & her little pooch, Holly, loved popcorn, too!

Love the idea of using all cotton fabric and thread to make items to use in warming up food that is all natural and quick.

Lots of fun info 👍. Wonder if tortilla chips are oily?

Thanks! Oh yes; chips can definitely be oily & salty, too. But the tortilla warmer is easy enough to wash. You could also put a couple of paper towels or napkins inside then place the chips. Or, instead of washing each time, place some paper towels or napkins inside afterward to 'soak' up any remnants.

What kind of plastic would I use in the tortilla bag?

I think I mentioned a few options - the 1st would be the largest Ziploc bags you can find. Cut off the Ziploc part. Secondly, bags that products come in work well, too. All of my templates are shipped in plastic bags & the ones my larger templates (like the larger Circle Templates I use for this project and my larger Microwave Bag Templates)
work great for this. You can feel good about recycling with a project like this!

Although you use 100% cotton fabric and thead i still dont trust this

I gotcha - but lots of us have success when following these 3 basic rules: 100% cotton batting with no scrim; 100% cotton fabric with no metallics & 100% cotton thread. Make one & the next time you're in a hotel, try it out! Or give it to a friend who is a risk-taker & have them try it out. And, of course, never microwave just the cozy & bowl or plate without food. It will be safe.
