Most of the people are saying defence gives life. But from my pov iit also gives life although they are different. In defence your contribution seems direct but iitian also contribute to nation economically because most of the iitian work in mnc and they use that earned money in india which is indirectly contributing economic strength of country. Apart from these most of the iitian start their start up like Narayan murty(Infosys), Sachin bansal(flipkart),Deepinder goyal(zomato), Ola(Bhavish aggarwal) and many other. They are also contributing nation by providing jobs which is ultimately reducing unemployment as well competing with foreign brand like Amazon, McDonald's etc to stop money flow from India to other countries.
Defence is something else it teaches you the way of life defence life cant be compared to corporate.

One thing I must say jee aspirants never want to accept the truth ( I am also a jee aspirant) but these students maybe don't know about NDA
1) people saying jee adv is tougher than NDA NDA is really easy to crack ...
So NDA is not just written it include SSB in it while this SSB is not just interview it's a long way process ranging from 4-5 days ... And it's not easy to crack only communication skill can't help to clear this SSB
2) People arguing over iitians working in MNCs ... So there they are bcz of their skills there are many people's non iitians who are working in MNCs ...
3) students arguing over iitians also serve country joing isro and all .....
So most of the iitians go for jobs perticularly in IT sector .... People's are very few who go for isro and all ( mainly from lower branches bcz they have less job opportunities)
4) Obviously everyone wanted stability in life so that's how it is ....
And the *way of life* here doesn't means life only common get some brain he is talking about disciplined life ...
But no-one can deny a fact that armed forces , doctors , teachers , researcher sportsperson are the one who are more dedicated to their carrier of serving nation .....
*Overall he deserves to be topper ... His thoughts and way of talking clearly state how good his ssb would have been*

Earn money vs satisfying your patriotism
There is no comparison as such between the two. Having faced the same situation and still feeling it, I can say, there is no comparison. But one thing for sure, there's a lot of respect you get when you go to NDA.
So, basically it is about me and my best friend. My best friend qualified NDA in his first attempt himself, NDA-147. I appeared for SSB thrice but was unable to crack the SSB😢. Meanwhile I qualified JEE Advanced after one year drop and got into IIT Dhanbad Chemical Engineering. But the respect that my friend has in eyes of my family and even the society( he is also my neighbour btw) is second to none. Almost everyone knows that he is going to be an Air Force officer, but no one knows about me😂. They still think I am doing BTECH from some random private college. Whenever I am with my friend, almost everyone asks him whether he is the one who has qualified NDA, but no one knows about me. Even when we went to our old school after two years of passout, every teacher and student were happy with his success, no one knew mine 🤣🤣. Even the juniors offered tilak to him, not me. People were taking photographs, selfies, autographs with him, not me. It felt really bad, but then I realised the difference between serving the nation and being money centred. Even the love of my life has fallen for him, I lost her as well to him. So happy for my friend, the future officer. Happy sufferings to me.
