It's the same for me in football, where in my opiniin the most entertaining to watch players aren't Messi and Ronaldo because they are the best, but Eden Hazard, because of his dribbling style, and Gareth Bale because of his upright posture when casually sprinting almost 40km/h. It's the same with Gidsel, as he just has the combination if long and very explosive legs which makes it look like he glides over the court in a way.
For me, will overtale Balic and Uwe, maybe Hansen. he is imo, already better than Balic and Uwe imo. Already Matching gold medals, almost also individual Awards. Balic was great, but also had less to compete with imo. Game has evolved so much, and there are so many VERY good players today. Plus Gidsel had to compete with 2 of the best players Ever in Hansen and Karabatic.
