Having very wide roads with no pedestrian walkways doesn’t solve the problem of traffic. This road is going to be narrow but seems to have pedestrian walkways. Not everyone needs to drive.
The government had ignored to develop these areas neighboring kampala for such a long time which had led people to construct illegal structures everywhere especially in road reserves thats why it will be very hard for such areas to develop into modern residential areas. My suggestion is, the government should concentrate more on developing new cities in sparsely populated areas into modern cities this will reduce migration of people to kampala hence reducing traffic congestion, job creations and less strain of on limited kampala resources. Many African counties are adopting this strategy thats why they do have well planned capital cities unlike ours which is a total mess
Dear Ivan, could interest yourself in the section from Masanafu to Sentema? This very road construction has been ongoing for the last one year plus. All that these guys have been able to do is to construct trenches/drainage covering the 3km from Mengo. Their pace is pathetic. Sections after Masanafu towards Sentema are in a very sole state. This contractor is less focused. How could he construct only 3-5Km in a time period over a year. Is the problem inability to pay the contractor on time? Or simply lazyness? Can the Wakiso local government and KCCA interest in the contractor' pace? This road had to be upgraded in the last two decades.
Only way to make it wide they should make wide and proper pedestrian and that dust is because they don't finish them well because if U cover the pedestrian side with enough and big pedestrian dust can not come in to the road then plant grass when it rains soil will always remain in grass
How bout ,Mengo School ,.the oldest secondary school in Uganda established established in 1897.. thanks Ivan for the vlogs, I watch u everyday. Keep it burning.

I hate open sewers even more
I think thats what makes the projects substandard
I get it
All the latest KCCA road projects have pedestrian walkways on top of the drainage system
Yes thats good but on sentema road there is enough space for expansion if u happen to use it but still they made it narrow
are they the same people to construct Lukwanga road or ???
Not sure
The drainage system being developed is appalling!

That's why the roads are narrow
Very good suggestion.

They need to pay people near the roads to have a bigger space for the roads
Right
