It never ceases to amaze me why people don't swim fish to the net and keep line tight and glide it into the net ... if I lost that DD I would have jumped in after it.
Was I the only one that caught that @6:36? "The keepers you catch are usually shorts" LOL I know what you meant to say, but it's funny. Keep posting I love your stuff!!!!
Its been years since I fished Block Island for flounder...used to make the run out of Mystic CT on occasion with a couple guys from work. Had good luck fishing for them off of Misquamicut Beach evenings more so than BI (lot of sand sharks)...but BI does have the advantage of restaurants w docks in the cove 🍺
I lost a few big fish by doing just that, stopping or a crawl reeling. Burns into my mind to keep pressure and movement on the fish. Good trip buddy 👍🎣
This is a bit controversial amongst my friends with trolling motors, but I only use the trolling motor to match the drift on the bottom. If there is no natural drift on the bottom, all the trolling motor really does is scope your line out. Of course, this is just my experience based on the times I’ve used it in such conditions.
@jiggingjerks ok, thank you for the response, John. I never had trolling motor on my boat, I am installing one for next year, so I am still learning about it. True about current, especially where we fish, Old Saybrook CT area. A lot of current and "confused seas" 🙂. BTW, I like your videos, between yours and John Skinner, this is 80% of fishing I watch. You guys are very informative, non of that "showing off nonsense". When are you getting your Eastward 24? You need to make some nice videos with that boat, I'm wondering how is fishing going be on it and how it is going to behave in different conditions?
@@jiggingjerkssadly as your subscriber number climbs the worse my chances get! But also amazing for you. I may never win the lottery but I have a better chance winning a trip to fish with yall!
Never cease to amaze, that you are still having net issues as a charter. One net really 😊
I know I know

1 mile for 1 gallon of fuel, wow I guess I should be happy I can’t afford a bigger boat ! Great video. Thanks.
Hahaha, it’s all about perspective. ThatS on one engine and the boat is planes out.
Great trip! Nice flatties!
John, with lock and load action like that you might want to consider adding another net.
Great video.

@@misstyflip yeah, I have a good friend who keeps his boat in Rhode Island and fish. Is this area a lot and the bite really shut off in August
@@jiggingjerks yeah big time. In limbo until black fish opens.
How come you did not use trolling motor with slow drift?

Looks like another fun trip - but can't help and feel as though like you got a bit too frustrated with this group 😬
Nah….good people
how many gallons of fuel did you burn of that trip?

Wow, just about $450! Big expence. That is why those charters are pricey. But well worthed for sure😊
