    On the New Moon, I usually start the day by lighting some candles, burning some frankincense and myrrh, while listening to what the Spirit of God has to teach me as I read my Bible.
    At some point, I will put on messianic music to listen to as I make, bake and then eat some fresh Challah, enjoyed with a little wine-a small “communion” between Jesus and me-as I remember His tremendous sacrifice, and ask Him to consider meeting with me and my family in a special way on His special day.
    For my offering, I sometimes go to a place where I know there are people who are barely getting by, and try to bless them with a big bag of food, money, a Bible, my written testimony, and the gospel-all of which I prepared a couple of days in advance.
    At the end of the day, as the sun sets, I usually have a sincere talk with Jesus about the things that are heavy on my heart (which often ends in tears), thanking Him for everything He’s blessed us with. Then I blow my shofar loud and long, listening to it echo before fading away.
    One thing the Lord showed me about the New Moon celebration, is that it’s a picture of us.
    The moon is just a reflector of the sun towards the earth; and we, too, are to reflect the Son-the Light of the world-TO the world.
    The truth of the picture, is that we are not always “full moons” (fully and perfectly reflecting Jesus 100% of the time).
    Sadly, sometimes we have some pretty dark days, where it seems we don’t reflect the Son well at all (New Moon…or, No moon).
    But most of the time, we are somewhere in between. Some days our reflection is somewhat small and dim; other days it is much bolder and brighter!
    The cool thing is: God knew we would be like this, right from Creation. In fact, he designed it into the skies, so that we would be encouraged when we have dark days, that brighter days are ahead.
    However, we cannot become proud when we reflect Jesus brightly, because struggles and battles with sin always come around again to keep us humble, repenting, and desperately pursuing the Light again.
    The cycle of the waxing and waning moon, reflecting a never-changing sun, is a compassionately designed picture of our life of faith, reflecting a tender-hearted, understanding, never-changing God. 😌

    Thank you so much for being so clear, precise and making this video! I'm celebrating one thing that Jesus celebrated at a time this year (started with Sukkot) and it's such a blessing to be learning from different people each time. Praying over you, your family and today's Rosh Chodesh!

    Love the updated title! Don't think it was necessary but, I understand some people were fussy about the original.

  • @Living4YHWH
    @Living4YHWH ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This is definitely not the direction I thought you were going, when I read the title. I thought it was going to be an "Every day is Yah's day and we should celebrate it" type of video. I'm so glad it wasn't. While that would have been very encouraging, I got so much more out of this! Thank you so much for sharing!

    • @WomenLivingTorah

      😂 I was worried the title might be too provocative…. 😂 But it IS a true title! I mean every word of it. Haha And I’m glad your first assumption wasn’t that I was going to compromise in some way! 🙌 😅 Thanks so much for watching, my friend!! 😃

      @@WomenLivingTorah I think I followed you long enough to know that you weren't suddenly backsliding. That being said, a TH-cam vlogger who actually helped us come to an understanding of Torah recently did just that so I can certainly see where that could be some people's assumption, if they didn't have a better understanding of you and your personality and your love for The Almighty. I wouldn't worry so much though about what other people think your title might mean. Being a little clickbaity helps to draw people in, which is absolutely how you help to expose them to His Word! What they do with it, well that's on them. All you can do is plant a seed and encourage people back to Scripture which I think you do beautifully in every video!
      Our family hasn't been keeping Erev Shabbat for a few months now, due to stress and outside situations. This has been a beautiful reminder and encouragement that I have two days to get things prepared so that we can get back on track and celebrate Shabbat as it is intended! After all, Shabbat starts the night before, not just home worship on Saturday! 😉
      His timing is perfect with this, though... my husband is a federal employee and not always home on Friday and/or Saturday because he works 48 hour shifts and he'll be home both days this week! So glad the Father used you in this way! 💕

      @WomenLivingTorah  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome!!! Thank you for the telescope suggestion!!! 😃 And yes!! YHVH loves to party! Haha In Numbers 28:2, it tells us these offerings on the moedim are His ‘food.’ Obviously, God doesn’t ‘need’ anything from us, as the Self Sustaining One, but I just think, ‘if I don’t like to skip meals, and I’m made in His image, I’m sure He doesn’t like to skip them either.’ But it turns out that when we give Him the praise and honor that He desires and deserves, He blesses US in return, too! He’s SUCH a good Father!!! 🙌

      @@WomenLivingTorah me too! ❤
      I am asking advice. I recently started working again in a customer service job. So I am many times a day wished Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. This is a problem for me because I do not want to give a negative reaction. But I do not want to say, "You too." Normally my interaction window is just seconds. The other day there was an opportunity of a little more time. I said, "I do not celebrate because that is not His birthday, I am still a believer, but I just read the whole Bible and follow only what it says". I think that seemed ok, he took it well. But this made me realize I need to be better prepared to give a 5 second answer. What do you say in these circumstances? When speaking with random strangers? Do you think a response of God bless you is ok? (Even my own extended family is confused by Yah and Yeshua.)

    • @WomenLivingTorah
      @WomenLivingTorah  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I usually just smile real big and say, ‘Thank you! Have a wonderful day!’
      If you’re not comfortable with the ‘thank you,’ (I am saying ‘thank you’ to their kindness toward me, but some may feel like it’s condoning their holiday), then you could just leave off the ‘thank you.’
      Or, I think, ‘God bless you! Stay warm and safe out there!’ Or something congenial like that is totally acceptable and warm and doesn’t make them feel slighted or uncomfortable. 😊 Just my thoughts!
