A cool exploit I found is that if the AI ducks, perform the Hell Axle kicks, they get hit every time and then when they roll forward to perform a low punch or kick, use the Iron Fist punch straight away. It cancels their attack, it also registers their attack as a counter and you get instant perfect.
The main thing that sticks out with Tekken 1, is that the unlockable characters all share voices with the other characters in the roster. Kunimitsu in T1 has Yoshimitsu's voice. Both versions of Jack, Heihachi & Ganryu. Nina & Anna. Kazuya & Lee. King, Armor King & Kuma. Of course, that would change in the sequels with Tekken 2 & 3.
I know this game clearly had memory limitations but it's still funny that practically half the cast shares a voice with someone else; I think Law, Paul, and Michelle are the characters who don't. Heihachi could cancel Shadow Step? And an Electric could hit a grounded opponent?!
In Tekken 5, there was Tekken arcade mode, the character select was even scarier because, when youo choose a character they'd move their head in a weird way... It's quite disturbing to see.

Nope, he's "trading" with throws. With air quotes because the opponent takes the hit and he takes the throw's "initial hit"... aka 0-frame hitstun, meaning instant recovery. That's why it looks like a cancel.
