- Welcome to my charcoal drawing video. Today I'm drawing a view of the magnificent Cape Cornwall using willow charcoal.
The drawing measures 40cm x 30cm and is on Fabriano Academia paper. I used willow charcoal sticks, a paper blending stump, willow charcoal powder, Tombow eraser and a craft knife blade.
Hope you enjoy the video. If you liked the drawing - here's a link to some of my drawings on my website: www.andrewbarr...
Like the video? Why not buy me a coffee?

Hi Andrew great drawing how about trying it as a painting
That would be cool - I’ve been thinking about it for a while
Great to watch you handling all the materials for this charcoal piece.
Thank you very much 😃
Hi Andrew. Great location and charcoal drawing. Love the subtle tones and blending. Enjoyed your last video. The week went by that quickly I forgot to leave a comment. Liked the monochrome study in particular. Cheers 😊.
Many thanks for watching and commenting. I do appreciate everyone who supports the channel and my efforts 😃
Beautiful drawing Andrew. I particularly like how the different sized erasers bring more realism to the picture. Thanks for the video...
Thank you so much Steve 😀
It's incredible - the texture, the overall feel. It's like something you would see in a Tarkovsky movie.
Thank you for this one and, as usual, nothing but love from Poland, Andrew
Thank you so much ☺️
All the best from Cornwall 😃
Pushing and pulling the values in all those layers made for a very beautiful drawing. Nicely done and very inspiring. Thank you for sharing, Andrew!
Thank you so much Maggie 😀
It turned out beautifully! And only charcoal on paper :)) I really like such landscapes. Kind regards !

That’s fantastic 😃
Thanks love it.
You’re welcome
Beautiful and masterful!
Many thanks indeed 😃
A masterclass in a deceptively simple material which is so expressive. Having discovered Cape Cornwall last year, it has a remarkable atmosphere. You know there is nothing apart from the vast ocean until reach Newfoundland. You feel very small!
Couldn't agree more with your comment. It’s very impactful
Wonderful. Very atmospheric. The Beacon at Lands End.
Thank you Mike
You have amazingly captured the light and textures of the Cape!
Thank you very much
