    I got the giggles with your "no judgement, just possibilities" comment. I always watch your intros, so interesting and I love the personal touches. Keep up the good work.

      I'm glad my "no judgment, just possibilities" comment made you giggle; giggles are great. I love finding (or creating) the images and the music that open and close the videos, so I'm happy hearing you enjoy them. Thank you for watching the video, and for the words of encouragement.

    Lenormand is also very directional, like the coffin and scythe meanings change on which side the sharp edge or cloth/head is. Other cards do too,. Do you have another video in which you discuss the additional directional meanings somewhere? Using directional information really helps with the readings. This one was very helpful with different words, very helpful thank you.

      Thanks so much for checking out the video, Natasha. At the time I did the series, the requests I received from viewers were about the keywords I use for the cards, so I focused on that. But you're right; the cards have directional cues that can offer additional information to a reading. At this time, I don't have any specific videos that talk about those directional cues, aside from when I might touch on them in my weekly reading videos. That might make for a video in the future, though...
      Thanks again for watching the video; I'm happy you found it helpful.

      @@JamesHimmCoach33 Thank you very much for your reply. I will start watching your weekly readings to help with my directional learning. I'm one of those people who can read and read but it just doesn't stick in my head. Watching your videos and the way you explain things really helps it to stick with me. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge it really helps. It would be awesome to see some directional ones when the time is right. ♡

    Hi James. I've been enjoying your videos immensely. Thank you so much for all your efforts and generous sharing of insights.
    I would humbly like to disagree with you on the meaning and relative negative value of the SNAKE card. I find it to be the most difficult and challenging card in the deck. I know you state that you find CLOUDS to be the most difficult card. I find that Snake can really represent monumental problems that are not solvable. When I read Snake, I usually give it the most difficult interpretation of deceit, unresolvable difficulties, and only if surrounded by my positive cards, can it be solvable complications. Clouds, I find, can "pass" and just as easily as the mind got confused, it can return to clarity.
    Just a thought.
    Thank you again for all these marvelous videos.

      Amy Fleetman Thanks so much for watching the video and for sharing your thoughts on Snake and Clouds.
      As cartomancers, I believe we can respectfully disagree on meanings of cards, based on personal experience. You have had yours, and I’ve had mine. And both are valid.
      I think the most important thing is that the meanings we have - whatever they might be - work for both the reader and the people being read - that, in the end, there is resonance and relatability. 🙏

    I am a newbie in Lenormand and really appreciate your video series. It would also be great if you did 3, 4, 5 card sample readings - perhaps in another series, so that we can see how the cards string together via your interpretations.

    Hi enjoying this but have decided to learn via Gypsy witch cards. I've decided to use the same base meanings and my own for the extra cards. Would you be prepared to go through the remaining Gypsy witch cards? At some point I'm even going to make a Grand Tableau board for my Gypsy witch cards and treat them in the same manner as regard to spreads. Can't wait. I think you get more for your money with Gypsy witch. It's a shame that there are no updated pictures of the Gypsy witch cards. Perhaps there's a patent issue or something. 😊

      Thanks so much for tuning in and watching the series. When I work with Gypsy Witch cards, I use Lenormand keywords just like you.
      Thanks for the suggestion about making videos on the meanings I use with the additional cards in GW - that's actually an interesting idea.
      I felt the same about the images in the standard GW deck as you do; I found a deck that actually has better imagery, called "Vintage Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Oracle Cards." The set is by Lynn Boyle, and you can find it here: www.etsy.com/listing/459601166/vintage-gypsy-witch-fortune-telling I love it and use it as my go-to GW deck.

    For the snake I sometimes get transformation (when the snake sheds its skin and transforms into its new skin) for the whip I sometimes find that someone is being continually criticised (negative repetitive behaviour in a relationship or at work)

      I've heard other readers use "transformation" with Snake, too. I really like "criticism" for Whip; that's a really good one. ;-)

    Thank you for this series. Love it! Do you know if there's a Lenormand deck that provides cards facing in different directions, as in Man 28, Woman 29, and Scythe 10, Rats 23, Rider 1, etc.? For some reason, I feel it's an important detail. I know that some decks have 2-28's and 2-29's because I own one, but I haven't seen what I'm asking about. If you know of such a deck, please let me know.

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, that's a great question, Lourdes. With the decks I have, most of them have additional Man and Woman cards (like you've mentioned), with each of them facing the opposite way; I tend to like them for when I have same-sex relationship questions.
      Thumbing through the decks I have, I noticed two that have Rider facing left (rather than right) and Mice facing left (rather than right), and these are the Under the Roses Lenormand and the Piatnik Lenormand. You might want to give them a look.
      In all the decks I have, Scythe is pointing to the right. There may be a deck out there that has it pointing the other way, but I wouldn't know of it (yet).
      I hope that helps. And if I'm not understanding the question, please let me know.

    • @7spiritualcompass706
      @7spiritualcompass706 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for responding. I happen to have the two decks you mention. Do you think it's alright to add the different directions cards to a 36 deck in order to do a reading? I hope I didn't confuse you with this question. I don't know any other way to put it.

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about taking cards from another deck and adding them to the deck you're doing the reading with? If so, the only drawback would be that you'd know those cards in advance because I'm imagining all the card backs are different. If that doesn't bother you than it would work.
      I guess I'm asking this for clarity: You said you feel it's an important detail about the direction of these cards. What is it you believe that the changes in direction will bring to your readings that the current facings/directions aren't giving you? I don't think it's really about the directions, but what you believe is missing. I'm just curious.

    • @7spiritualcompass706
      @7spiritualcompass706 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It's exactly what I mean. But, you brought up a good point regarding the back of the card and my knowing they're there. I didn't think about that.
      As far as direction, the example I can use is of, perhaps having a romance reading when both 28 & 29 are close enough to each other, but, facing away from each other. That would, it could, throw out a clue that the couple are not communicating with each other in the relationship, or no longer carry the same interest in each other. Am I reading too much into it? Too literal? Would love your feedback. Thank you so much. Blessings.

    • @JamesHimmCoach33
      @JamesHimmCoach33  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, from the example you gave, the fact that the Man and Woman aren't facing each other would be significant. Remember, Lenormand is quite literal, so you could state it just like you see it. And, the other things to consider would be what each of them is facing (the card) as that would show you possible problems that may be playing into the Man and Woman not being together. The cards they're facing might shed light on where their focus is.
      Another possibility would be any cards between them, especially if the Man and Woman cards are in the same line. Those cards might suggest blocks or things being ignored that are central to the relationship (backs to those cards = rejection and being ignored).
      I'll give you an example from my own experience where direction was key. A woman came to see me about her relationship with her husband. He had informed her he was leaving her, just out of the blue. The deck I used for her tableau had the Man and Woman cards facing the same direction (right), which is one of my peeves about the Man and Woman cards, because I'd rather have it where they could face each other in a reading.
      Anyway, I laid out the tableau. Guess what happened? In the same row, the Woman card landed in front of the Man card. Remember, they're both facing the same way (right), so she was looking at him (he was in front of her), and he had his back to her, looking at what's in front of him. Those two cards, laid out in that way, mirrored exactly what was going on for that client. All I had to do was literally point that out to her. (I talk about this in my Kathy's Grand Tableau series, if you want to check it out. You should find it among my playlists, and it's the first video in the series.)
      I share that just say to trust the way the cards fall, direction and all. And then read it the way you see it.
      Hope that helps. Blessings! :-)

    James, PLEASE stop all of the repetitive chit-chat and get directly to the content of the cards!!!! It's burdensome and you're wasting the viewers time!! I love your interpretations but you waste way too much time with chit-chat at the beginnings of your videos and no one care about which viewers inspired you!!!

      Thanks for checking out the video, Suleyman, and for your constructive feedback.
      I'm going to push back just a bit, though... The intros, in my opinion, serve a purpose, and that is for those who come upon the videos out of sequence, perhaps for the first time. It's a way to bring them up to speed.
      And I will also disagree with you on the idea that no one cares about who inspired the videos. For every one of my viewer-requested videos, each person mentioned enjoyed hearing her name mentioned, and told me so (whether in the comments section or privately).
      And third, as the channel creator, that's just my style. The videos are done and have been up for some time, so the content won't change. I would offer that, if you're going to watch any further installments, just forward past the intros.
      Again, thanks for watching. I appreciate your thoughts.
