- Volkswagen Beetle sitting for years , will it start ?
Dubwerks and I found this Vw Bug sitting since 1986 in a garage & trailered it home in January.

I’m an old man now. My Wife gave us 6 sons. Things such as old cars came and went but the joy of doing things together filled my heart with memories that carried me through hard times and sorrows. Whenever we get together the boys always have a session of,remember when?, the man in this video is a great Dad. In the end no success in life will ever overshadow that.
I loved it when Josh said, "shame on them" about the people who said it wouldn't start! This kid is going places thanks to his dad!!!

Step away Mustie1 there is a new team in town, well done. I love this video, we all needed it to help us through these crazy time . My parents divorce when i was three. I did not know my dad until my late teens. He was a great guy. He died young from cancer back when my son was three years old. He told me to find something we both enjoy, create moments for him and I and provide him a life time of father/son memories. That same year when he died i got my son his 1978 beetle and he is 31 & this summer we have big plans up dating his 1978 beetle. I love seeing you and Josh working together, there no greater gift a father can give his son.

@@timwilkinson2797 Thank you Tim Back when he was three after the vw on car show on our way home, he would look at me and say boy dad we sure got some good memories today. Every show that was his repied funny how at such a young age he truly understood what the day and the car and us was all about.

Good video! Josh is a natural ham bone! I have done that 180 out of phase, and it's a treat to have it fire right up after hours of my frustration and the five minute fix after a desperate call to a much better mechanic!

They all run and look at Josh ! Getting right in there good for him😁👍👍👍 I was eleven years old when I was building mini bikes and fixing old motorcycles. Don't laugh my first motorcycle was a late 60s PUCH or (push) because it seemed I was pushing it more than riding it will 🤣
we called Puch Pukes, because they tended to puke out on you all the time.
@@tootall5559 You got that right I remember finding out the first problem with the one I had the muffler was plugged up with oil residue.
@@willf5768 every time I see the tips on a VW exhaust, I think of a guy I knew way back in high school. He had a blue 175 Honda twin. For the exhaust, he used two VW tips. That guy rode it come hell or high water, snow, whatever. It was all he had. Later on, I rode my 500 yammer year round, it was all I had. I even rode it through a snow storm with two feet of snow on the roads. A cop followed me almost all the way home, just waiting for me to dump it I guess... but I didn't, I put my feet down like outriggers and took it slow.

WoW !!! That brings back a lot of memories dude when me & my brother would haul old VWs home and got them running like you did . That's awsum ! Hi 5 to you especially for spending quality time with your kid and teaching him valuable life lessons in this regard . Unlike so many that let a computer or cell phone be their babysitter so they can just sit back , drink beer and watch football and not take this sort of quality time with their kid & that's so sad . Great video, Jason! Good to see you guys at work again. Josh is the best! One of my old Vdubs was 180 out too. I could not figure out why it ran so badly after a fresh tune up. Some how got the car to ye olde mechanic who knew in a few seconds what was wrong, rearranged my plug wires, sold me a set of pop outs for $10 and sent me home happy. Stay healthy, guys. You provide a lot more than VW advice.

Had one back in 1974-75. Was also a Lady Blue and was a strong runner ! Had an indash cassette player, for its time, was a big deal ... Slainte' ! Cheers !

Great work dude these Vee Dub motors are so easy and simple to work on doesn't matter how long they've been laid up with a bit of this and that you can usually have them running again in no time at all. My stepdaughter has a Vee dub Bay window camper she has it M.O.Teed every year then just leaves it sat on the car park I've got it running again for her on at least four occasions after she's just let it stand. It's now in a real sorry state it needs a real good wash a damned good T cut n polish all four tyres pumping up and gettin running ... again, it's absolutely stupid I've told her to just sell it but she won't listen.
I bought a car once for a dollar...Was sitting in a garage for 3 yrs...they couldn't get it started so that lady said "Just get it out of here" So I hooked up the primary to the coil, started it up and drove it home.

thank you , yes , M1 clarified some issues I had with the original distributor . I am very blessed to have M1 as friend , he always takes the time to explain how and why ....even when I call 3 months later and ask again haha :). Thank you , Josh sure is , 8 years old friday :). I once (30 years ago... good grief... sigh) had a similar problem with a distributor. I needed one for a type 181 but they sold me one with a wrong alignment.

Good to hear, I took the cog off the org dizzy and spun it back 180 to the correct position . Put the org dizzy in car and it ran . It’s in the next vid , today . Thank you for the comment and good luck with yours 👍
