The ending was Third Stone From the Sun. Great track. “May you never listen to surf music again.” When I saw Stevie, he did that crazy on the floor stuff & I think my jaw dropped for five full minutes.
So dedicated to the blues Stevie was a kind of unique blues genius!,He played once on Bowies album Let's Dance somewhat reluctantly he wouldn't do such ever again! HIS LOVE And Forte was the blues till the end which is what makes him the MAN!In Texas he was booed because likely he was Mexican and they had a hard time accepting this genius that changed eventually!HIS act and calibre nigh impossible for most people to even begin to follow faithfully that's the reality!Notice also the diversions adding even Hendrix to his forte!
Just to let you know your work IS appreciated. I started playing guitar in 1960 and somehow managed to make it thru the '70's with most of my brains. I didn't go thru all your videos but I believe the greatest guitar performance ever recorded was SRV Texas Flood Live at El Mocambo. If you haven't done a reaction to this it would be appreciated. Thank you
You should check out the El Mocambo version of this song. It's like a 2 minute sprint - he blazes though this tune and triggers air guitars all over, lol.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the best guitar players who ever lived I listen to one of his songs when I was younger then I got back into his music when I was 16 years old when I heard pride and joy that was it and I became a fan again and I never stopped listening to him I know everything about him about his life that's music how many albums he sold and the day of his death I will always be a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan a double trouble they brought Blues back to the mainstream if it weren't for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble I don't think there will be no John Mayer or Los Lonely Boys or or any body in that matter rest in peace Stevie Ray Vaughan we still miss you buddy
STRONG Jimi Hendrix influences here. A definite ODE, to him, playing parts of the song, "Third Stone from the Sun". Then tossing guitar to ground mimicking Jimi at 1967 Monterey Pop Festival (burning his guitar, without the actual fire). The three-piece band. Stevie is a Legend. Jimi was an idol to Stevie! Great pick up on out of tune guitar. How about a little "Star Spangled Banner", Woodstock '69 as a celebratory 4th of July exclusive.? Great Vid!!
Pausing @ 5:54 what song is that riff from? Hendrix? Beck? After this I think I'll listen to Electric Ladyland, I think it might be in there somewhere 🤷♂️
You know how the Japanese are really good at copying something they like? I don't think they will ever Copy Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stevie Ray makes me proud to be American.
Big fan of Stevie Ray. Check out a great friend of his, Jeff Healey. There is a great video of them playing Look at Little Sister. If you don’t know Jeff, I won’t say much about him other than he his one of the most unique blues guitarist you will ever see. Both of them are gone now but they were brilliant.
Hi Justin, concerning the second song, I tried commenting to you the link, then a decrypted message and then a vague message to the original version by Jimi off the album which can't be found here on YT, but from another popular site other reactors use to post striked reactions on. Unfortunately all 3 were deleted I guess by YT. I tried bro. A visit to that site and then entering the song's name should lead you to it if you're interested in hearing it.
Hey Justin thanks for circling back to Stevie! You are so rushed these days😂✌️. Great ear for catching the out of tune and no, he was not yet sober at this time. This was Jan. of 1985 and rehab was in October of 1986, one way you can tell if you don't the date you are watching, he isn't wearing his 2 sobriety rings. But he sure looks good here. This Toyko concert is one of my faves. His mood is loose and casual and his playing suburb. His Voodoo Doo Chile from this is also my favorite elevating it to another level. Hope you watch it sometime. Also his Tin Pan Alley from this is laid back and chill and he does a sick transition into Dirty Pool from that. Thanks for this today Justin✌️💙
The feedback near the end made me think of a different style and band. Hüsker Dü track called Reoccurring Dreams. It might not be everyone's cup of tea with the high pitched shrill. If played too loud, people in other neighborhood might get in their cars- driving around trying to find out - "what's that sound?" Happy 4th of July weekend. ♥️🤍💙
I like his Testify performance better at Capitol Theatre 1985 but I'm not so much into the guitar making weird sounds...doesn't really sound that good to me...just my preference.

"I use heavy strings, tune low, play hard, and floor it. 'Floor it,' that's technical talk." ---Stevie Ray Vaughan
Thank you so much for covering SRV, and keeping his music alive .
I can't tell you just how much his music means to me .
Thanks maestro Justin.
Yassss
Definitely my fave blues player
Love that you know music! Good job, keep it up,my friend! Be YOU! ALL U CAN DO! PEACE
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 THE goat of all goats
He was high af here. He didn't get clean until late '86.
The ending was Third Stone From the Sun. Great track. “May you never listen to surf music again.” When I saw Stevie, he did that crazy on the floor stuff & I think my jaw dropped for five full minutes.
Thanks Mark I should have checked out the comments first. I need more coffee brother ☕
@@peterismyfirstname2872 better than I’d have done before my first coffee. 👍
Yes I originally thought the song was "1983, a merman I shouldl turn to be" from Electric Ladyland, I edited that, Thanks!
Third stone from the sun
THAT's IT! I said Stone Free?? wrooonnnggg you're right!
Plays like he invented the guitar

I heard this reaction in a thunder storm!
First time ive seen this video of him adding Hendrix's third stone from the sun to testify-!

This is the first time I’ve seen Stevie play a maple neck I think
I pretty sure the end was Third Stone From The Sun which he plays in the El Mocambo show and of course is mindblowing

I think he was high as fuck? But he was an awesome guitar player no matter what can you just imagine how cool it would be if he were still alive
He definitely was 1985 and 86 till he got sober seemed to be the highest he ever was. He got better once he cleaned up
@@steezymongo1270 yup he sure did
Love his cover of Jimi Hendrix 😊!

3rd Rock From the Sun was the finish
That left hand is a VICE GRIP WITH FINGERS!!! LOL
@7:19 SRV shouldn't take apart electric equipment with a screwdriver while it's plugged into the wall socket, kidding sounds awesome
THis was not all testify. He broke into Hendrrix "Third Stone From the Sun" in the middle!
“Third Stone From the Sun” Hendrix.
Also, I'm not positive of the year, but I did not see Reese on stage anywhere which would place it pre 1985
You are correct. This was January of 1985 and Reese came on board in August of that year.
