    TBF it could also be a situation like Big Game which got a 15 for a single use of "motherfucker" but was a PG-13 in America

    I’m not sure what the content would be like, I kinda dislike the first two, I also think the first two should be 12 rating. Not 12A we need a solid 12 rating (restricted to 12 years and over like the 15 and the 18 rating) FNAF would be perfect as a 12 rating, same with a lot more 15 rated films.

    • @VideoGameJNPoop
      @VideoGameJNPoop 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      First of all, 12 is now only used for home releases, 12A is cinemas only. FNAF was only a 15 primarily for strong threat, though there are also some scenes of violence too that is 15-worthy bye the BBFC's standards, but the film would almost seem 12/12A worthy if it wasn't for those aspects.
      Plus even if most of a film would seem 12/12A worthy, one thing that would bump the rating up will become the reason for its 15 classification, it's the same thing with films that get a 15 or 18, there are many examples of 18 rated movies having strong language, but the language isn't actually normally the key issue (unless it's very strong language, uses of the c-word), rather other aspects like violence and sex mainly are the REAL reasons for an 18.
      Similar here, only its 15 in this case for violence and language. This is also why the consumer advice only lists the actual reasons why the rating was given instead of listing everything the film has (like the MPAA, now just MPA), examples for 18 rated films, they're usually for violence, gore. injury detail or sex and they'll list those as the reasons, even though many of those films also have strong language included as well, but the language is at a 15-level so they don't include those additional issues on the consumer advice.
      Venom: The Last Dance may have plenty of 12/12A worthy moments (just have to wait and see), but what's said on the consumer advice would absolutely require a 15 classification.

      @@VideoGameJNPoop He knows. He's simply saying we need the 12 rating back for movies like the first two Venom and FNAF. Additionally, I also used to think the MPA lists everything a movie has - but this is wrong, they simply have different guidelines.

      @@VideoGameJNPoop you have a good point, I know all the details but I still stick with my opinion while respecting yours. I think they should honestly make a 12 certificate but make it clear that it’s 12, or maybe make like a 13 or something just so it’s not complicated. I honestly think the guidelines should be changed, say like the uses of the c-word affecting the rating etc, if it’s used 3 times it would still be a 15 but 10 would be an 18. It’s the same word and yea it’s not a nice word but it’s still there and it’s the same word no matter what amount it’s being used. Now the same could be said for the 12A FBomb, *BUT* younger audiences who are prone to pick up bad language would likely be watching something classified 12A.

    I do expect this movie to go a step beyond the usual PG-13 movie with its Violence. Its now been rated PG-13 as of this comment being posted, the details being: "Intense sequences of Action, Bloody Images and strong language." Venom 2's 15 rating was definitely more centered around carnage being disturbing than including actual gore, there has been clips released for Venom 3 showcasing head-bites with small sprays of blood so I believe we will get a bit more gore in Venom 3.
    I find it unfortunate that with most movies being produced in the US how far a movie can go with its content lies on them. In the Uk and Ireland you can have mature content at an age as low as 15/15A. The age gap between the R Rating and PG-13 is too big in my opinion. There is no middle ground, and studios will prefer to keep it PG-13 so they can grow an audience. We don't get many R rated comic book movies because of this. If the studios worked to a 15 rating we could see a satisfyingly violent Venom while still keeping a strong audience

    Another thing that I could think of is that (don't know if this is indeed the case or not but) the BBFC probably teaches some strong language differently than the usual f-bomb, as the f-word is not the only language that is considered strong, two other terms "motherf---er" (despite it being the same as the f-bomb, just combining another word to it) and "c---sucker" are also classed as strong language according to the BBFC, but they might be more stricter on those terms than the usual f-word and (even if used once) would imediately become a 15, much like how infrequent use of very strong language (c-bomb) is also 15-worthy and can't be heard in lower ratings.
    There were some PG-13 movies that use that term motherf---er just once but they still got a 15 rating by the BBFC (even if they got that rating for other reasons too, they still list language as the reason), which could indicate that the BBFC is stricter on that term than just the f-word. Don't know if it's the same with c---sucker as well, but it is likely the same there as well.
    That is just my speculation though, but it could be a guideline difference after all, we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves when it comes out.
