Realistically if you cant do that then grenades instead of mines will be favourable but if you can get away with it then the burst is real nice. You also lose most of your ranged capability taking mine so for the majority of encounters you should run grenades.

in general no, forge autos are pretty good but I ran into overheating problems and this was the way i solved the issue. I think it could be done better.
Overload would be ok for fast phasing bosses. But for the most part, this would be your go to. The cons of overload has always been that you'd be locked out of your kit far longer than you would running ECSU. I really recommend learning the rhythm of ECSU as it's more forgiving than PBM once you get it.
