I graduated high-school at 17 and moved out that summer. Went to culinary school and worked in restaurants to pay for it. Lived with 5 guys and 2 couples in a house owned by one of the guys parents that they rent out to college students. Cost me 50 dollars a month. All I needed to supply was my own food which 90% of was free from work and school. This was the 80s.

I can't blame him either. It's one thing to share a room with your siblings when you're really close in age, and you're really young. When you get older though, you want your own space. Maybe that's not always possible, but it's perfectly normal for an older teen or young adult to not want to bunk with young siblings. In fact, I always wondered why Wally had to share a room with Beaver on Leave It To Beaver. I know it had to do with the show and the conversations they would have together in their room, but it always seemed a little strange to me because they had that great big house.

I could see it when they were little but not in the last couple of seasons.

I can't blame him either. It's one thing to share a room with your siblings when you're really close in age, and you're really young. When you get older though, you want your own space. Maybe that's not always possible, but it's perfectly normal for an older teen or young adult to not want to bunk with young siblings. Back in those days, it was the norm. The Bradys had the chance to buy a bigger house but stayed put, so he's lucky he got the attic.
