ah finaly somebody take care about those wonderfull tool, that existe for more than 3 decades in other software like lightwave, but the anime " Golgo 13 " was probably the first movie that used this technic in 1983 for the skull modeling in the opening sequence.
The meat'a'ball joke is fun but this is an amazing presentation that has given me so many ideas. I'm late to the party but I have to give huge props to Alexander.
i just used metaballs for the first time and i can see it being a game changer! imagine making a rigged clay-face with this stuff. Might take a bunch of patience, but it'd be seriously fruitful considering how much life the movement of metaballs brings. I wish there were like... a mesh modifier? Where it becomes a mesh when you need it to be a mesh but when you disable it you can tweak movement using the metaballs. Idk how possible that would be, but man I would prefer making all characters using metaballs now
@@painterpaw8702 I think there are some tools that work pretty well in Unity now If you're interested. But I haven't seen anything for Blender still unfortunately.
yep then again, actual fluid simulation isn't too fast either, so i guess it has its purposes as a quick and dirty hack, and it could be pretty cool in eevee soon to get a quick preview for showing animated liquid metal and suchwithout spending hours baking fluids metaballs in particle systems are good fun for procedural modeling too :D
Omg it's actually metaballs? I always read meatballs
LOL me too. I even translated to "almondega" in Portuguese (which means MEATball).
Glad I'm no alone
You are not alone 🤣🤣
Note to self: make sure unit scale is set to 1 when trying to use metaballs, they don't work as expected at 0.01 unit scale.
Note to self: Remember this thing someone in the comment section mentioned
10:39 Autocorrect got you too, eh?
And at 1:39, if you look good enough, there's 1 frame where it says "WHAT ARE MEATBALLS?"
That's a spicy meta ball! :P

It's great & so cute
I like how the Blender theme was changed after More Advanced Usage slide
I want a plugin to automatically skin a rig with metaballs. (no autocorrect, not meatballs!)
So cool! Before this I'd next thought much on metaballs!

.. Fake Flood so Amazing!!!
I need a tutorial for the chicken! I love it!
Ive always wanted to try to utilize MetaBall more but disnt know how
New drinking game. Take a shot every time he says "meat a' ball" Other than that, some pretty cool stuff.
My bigger issue there is, that he kept saying wielding all the time, when I am sure he meant welding. (And I know, old comment is old)
What are meatballs?
dxxPacmanxxb food
@@leosmi1 eu ia responder isso xD
Does Autodesk Maya have something like that? Argh! Blender is Getting Better and Better!
No it doesn't but ZBrush has ZSpheres, kinda like Metaballs
This is really cool, it reminds me a bit of a plugin that was available for 3ds Max 2 called MetaReyes.
that lighting tho
Reminds me the assassination scene in Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country...
Great stuff!
Thank you!

How to do a negative/substractive metaball?
Can someone explain to me why my metaball disappears when i rename it?
Basemeshes vs box is SO much easier to get good results fast.
Really awesome
Is it possible to have a regular mesh act as a Metaball?
No. I've been waiting years for that to happen though.

Metabolism, wow!
I'm a novice. Is using metaballs for air bubbles in a Mantaflow simulation sensible?
If you can get it looking like you want, then sure
Thanks_for_sharing _very_useful
why metaball couldn't just be an option in the physics or even a modifier
like a lava lamp
where is a conference blender in mexico?
search the net for blender user's groups in mexico {or spanish equivalent)....
It's like if the killer robot from Terminator 2 was actually a chicken.
Wow , this is supercool! Love the section that starts at 20:00
Would be nice, if we could put metabals on particles.
You certainly can
BUT....does it come with all eleven herbs and spices?
y E S
I'm hungry.
yay sure
Someone please teach Scandinavians how to pronounce meta and weld.
He’s not Scandinavian? He’s German, I’m Scandinavian and I’ve been told I sound fluent in English
Sorry, I didn't catch it, was it metaball?

Meetha ball in Hindi means sweet ball
