I've had very bad scoliosis most of my adult life! I've never gotten disability! Had surgery in 85 to stabilize my spine. Took 6 years for me to just work part time! I'm currently laying in bed with a back ache. At least I'm of age so I could retire a couple of years ago!

I know exactly where my children are at all times or at the very minimum who they are with and where they plan on being and at what time. Like wtf. Since the time my son was born, I put him first. Like you, I knew where he was at at all times. I had numbers to his friends houses and knew his friends parents. He is 29 now and I still know where he is at at all times. And if not, I call his phone and ask him where he is at.

I've seen people get more emotional about puppies they gifted away when their dog weaned them, than that woman talking about her prior babies.
This is the most important time for a new baby, Mom, and Dad to be bonding. She's drinking instead? That's really sad. I can't imagine how he felt working all day, then walking in and finding his girlfriend almost dead from overdosing, and being so shocked that you have a heart attack. This is a mess!
And then to never get to parent your baby after that. It’s unfortunate that it happened because I don’t blame him for baby originally going into care because he did the right thing by calling 911 on Gloria, but him deciding not to participate in any services after that is on him, which bums me out for the baby. I think if he had left mom afterward and did at least some of his services he would have at least a small chance.
It doesn't appear that he has helped try to do anything for the other 4 kids that have been taken away either. I definitely don't think he is a fit parent either.
More importantly is her drinking through her pregnancy and the developmental delays that causes. I can imagine all of her children have issues.

Losing 4 children is horrible, but continuing a relationship and having unprotected sex with the person who's drinking is so out of control that the government has to step in and take your children, is reckless. The fact they didn't try to get their children back is heartbreaking. To hear that she didn't even know who their children are living with, or where they're located, or even attempted to stay in contact with then is shocking.
I hope these children found amazing families that love and care for them. I also hope the children NEVER see this trial when they're older. It's one thing being in foster care/ getting adopted, and it's a whole different story to know your parents never gave a damn, and didn't even try.
I believe this is the second or possibly even third hearing with these two.
The reason I say that, is I remember the father pumping his tires about having all these degrees and certificates and that fell apart on cross.
Then he said he had a house in Flint I believe, but the roof was collapsing and it was not liveable.
I think I also remember this wasn't the first time he'd found 'Mother-Of-The-Year' OD with baby in the room.
It is a sad day when a couple lose parental rights of one child, but this is five for them.

The TV being on bothered me too! I appreciate the judge directing both of them to have their faces visible and to stop smoking, but was waiting for her to tell them to turn off the TV. Maybe the judge was gaining insight from their behavior? She didn't follow through though. Mom seemed like she was on more than a Monster energy drink.

Another common reason seems to be to hide inappropriate attire decorum. Recently, a pro se defendent had video on, but only displayed face to bottom of chin. As she moved about, it was clear that she was wearing a tank top, with very thin shoulder straps. She was essentially naked from shoulders to top of breasts. This was not the most egregious example that I have seen, but this sort of presententtion is extremely lazy and disresepctful. Many judges would not accept that sort of disrespect and demand different attire, or to at least cover the vast amount of visible flesh.
I just love Judge Manning chewing up folks for smoking, not having a shirt on and laying up in the bed! 😂😂😂

And did you notice that towards the end when the judge was ruling that the semi was in motion? He lost the ability to have video by design. He decided the need to travel was more important than being 'present' for the courts ruling.

I don't even see how he is allowed to drive a truck after a heart attack. Here in Canada his licence would of been revoked. He would never be able to drive a transport.

@@MrBetcthats not true at all. I know alot of canadian drivers that have had heart attacks and still drive. Also here in the states once you have a heart attack you have to get a new med card and ince cleared we can drive again without any issues. Same as in canada.

Get a lawyer that handles social security cases. I had a former co-worker the apply 2 times, then got a lawyer & got it. 🤔

Get a lawyer, unfortunately people like her and others- scam the system and people who really deserve it, need it have to fight for it, get yourself a lawyer.
First, get an attorney, like others have suggested. Also, ask your Congressman for a letter of support for your file. My great uncle was a US Congressman and he advised my mom do this for her appeal. It's part of their service to the people they represent. She followed this advice and didn't even see the inside of the courtroom. Her appeal was approved before they even called her in. Good luck! 💓

This is going to be probably a lengthy rant. But I am so sick and tired of lazy drunk or drugged out people getting disability. It is so easy to fake ADHD, anxiety, PSTD. It is such a joke. My husband is a 20 year Naval retired veteran. He’s been turned down three times for disability. He has severe medical problems. We finally had to go before a judge last week. This drives me insane when people who don’t truly deserve it get it and just live like trash. We end up raising their children too because they can’t be bothered. I also have secondary chronic progressive multiple sclerosis. I’m in my 50s and cannot work. And guess what? I got turned down as well. This system is so broken. OK end of rant!
Same here, 14 orthopedic surgeries, major problems, denied disability while drug addicts and so called ptsd get approved. See it all the time in these court cases.

A judge in my area was basically forced off the bench for telling a convicted mother of child abuse that she could get a norplant in exchange for further jail time. That was 3 decades ago and here we are (California).

This is new. It was from Tuesday the 20th. His was the permanency hearing. What you saw about a year ago was the temporary placement hearing when they first removed the baby.
