The ancient temple is dedicated to the god Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of god Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue and is thus a popular Hindu pilgrimage site. A special feature of triyuginarayan temple is a perpetual fire, that burns in front of the temple. The flame is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage. Thus, the temple is also known as Akhand Dhuni temple.
यह मंदिर अत्यंत प्राचीन हिन्दू मंदिर है जोकि उत्तराखंड के रुद्रप्रयाग जिले के त्रियुगीनारायण गांव में स्थित है। भगवान विष्णु इस मंदिर में माता लक्ष्मी व भूदेवी के साथ विराजमान है। माता पार्वती ने कठोर तपस्या कर भगवान शिव को विवाह हेतु प्रसन्न किया और भगवान शिव ने माता पार्वती के प्रस्ताव को स्वीकार किया
त्रियुगीनारायण मंदिर की मान्यतायें
माना जाता है कि त्रियुगीनारायण मंदिर त्रेतायुग से स्थापित है। इस मंदिर में आज भी अग्निकुंड में अग्नि जलती है यहां प्रसाद के रूप में लकड़ियां डाली जाती है इस अग्निकुंड में श्रद्धालु धूनी भी लेकर जाते है ताकि उनके वैवाहिक जीवन मे सदा सुख-शांति बनी रहे। विवाह से पहले सभी देवी-देवताओं ने जिस कुण्ड में स्नान किया था, उन सभी कुण्डों में स्थान करने से "संतानहीनता" से मुक्ति मिलती है व मनुष्य को संतान की प्राप्ति होती है।
पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार राजा बलि ने इन्द्रासन पाने की इच्छा से सौ यज्ञ करने का निश्चय किया और निन्यानबे यज्ञ होने के पश्चात भगवान विष्णु वामन अवतार धारण करके राजा बलि का अंतिम यज्ञ भंग कर दिया, तबसे इस स्थान पर भगवान विष्णु की वामन देवता अवतार में पूजा-अर्चना की जाती है।
