You're amazing. Thank you for sharing. I can't believe how many vacuums I've thrown away because of this problem. I will forever fix them now.❤❤❤❤

Love it! It feels amazing to know how to fix your own stuff, huh? When things break, it's not instead dread of having to replace it, but rather the thought, "I'll just fix it." Glad you found my video, friend.

That was super easy! Thanks for sharing! I have a cord that broke the exact same way and I’m going to try to fix it the exact same way. Quick question: Does it matter that you started with two prongs and went to three prongs?

Going from 2 prongs to 3 doesn't matter unless you have an older house with older outlets that don't allow for a 3-prong to be plugged in.

Eaton is the brand of the plug in this video. Costs around $6 at Lowes or Home Depot.

It doesn’t sound the heathiest. clean the brush hoses and filters. Trust me its a big difference

Dear Miss. The wire from the vacuum is a "Polarized Plug" and you connected a non polarized plug with a "ground" on it. A bit of over kill for sure. They do make replacements for the plug that was damaged.

Yes - I went with the heavier duty (over kill) option because the third prong provides better stability in the plug and is harder for my kids to pull out improperly and ruin the prongs. (Making it less likely for me to have to re-fix the prongs on the vacuum again--ha!) My kids like to pull the vacuum cord out at an angle which is why all 3 of my vacuum plugs have had to be replaced.

@@doreenrg yes I have to get one I definitely think it is a better option since one of my kids pulled the plug and now it's broken ughhhhh

@@NehemiahGoku11VR - I hear ya! I've discovered that for me, knowing how to fix what they break makes things a little less stressful. Good luck!
