This might sound weird, but this song is nostalgic and brings memories from my childhood in early 2000s. They used to play it every night in mini discos where hotel staff brings kids together in stage and dance into this and other songs. That time were the golden days that hold a big part of my heart and it can’t be repeated, replaced and surpassed.
We danced to this in a skit for SPARC at summer camp in 1985. I like it. But I couldn't find it online because I didn't know the real lyrics. I thought it was "I've got two two two...apples and a tree..." (Yes, more mondegreens. I do that a lot because I'm hard of hearing) It took me forever to find the real song. Not just two, two, two years. I'm glad I finally found it!

I'm an American Anglophile! Born and raised in America but ever since I heard the King's College Choir on the radio I became an Anglophile. Having survived the 70s, I can verify that three quarters of pop music in that decade was basically this song. The "oldies" they play from that decade today are only that last quarter. We've done that thing all old people do: rewritten our youth.

I love this song! It's a feel good song. I dance all over my home when I listen to it. I had it as my ringtone at one point, and just for fun last summer, I was playing it on my phone and dancing while walking up the street, much to the amusement of bystanders.
I lived in England from 1986 to 1992. I remember that every party I went to, people would perform a conga train everytime this song played. Don’t know if it is still a thing there. Ah, the nostalgia!
You have no idea how much this song was part of my childhood 😊. Me and my parents were on vacation in Mallorca in 1995 and every evening the hotel hosted the "Mini Disco" where they played this, "Superman", "The Music Man", "Hockey Cockey" and a few other tracks. Me at 5 years old danced my little ass off to every song 😅. Then I bought a cassette (those were the days 😀) and not only the songs but also the DJ's banters could be heard on it. I played it every summer after that because it reminded me so much of that vacation until we flew back to Mallorca 5 years later and I went to the Mini Disco again and this time I bought a CD 😁.
My great grandfather was 10th Light Horse in the first, my grandfather was 2/3rd Machine Gunner. I heard their stories. I remember them. When I was young, and I mean just a pup, I heard this song on a close to daily basis. I've not heard it in years. It was only today that I heard it ... and finally understood its message. I am proud of those who came before me, and grateful for what they gave me.
Both personal friends of mine in the 80s. I was stood right next to Colin Routh as he was putting the backing vocals on the recording in the studio, set up in Alan's garage. Alan Barton was killed in an accident whilst driving the Smokey (the group) van in torrential rain in Germany, he never woke up. Colin resides in Tennerief. Both genuine people. Yes Colin did have an unproven accusation against him. I hope these songs will be enjoyed by many generations to come, I am proud to have been a part of it all. Although I absolutely hated this song back in the late 80s when I was at primary school in the UK, listening to it now fills my eyes with tears. It reminds me of all my old mates at the school disco and a couple of girls I had a crush on, a couple of whom are no longer with us.

I love this song! It's a feel good song. I dance all over my home when I listen to it. I had it as my ringtone at one point, and just for fun last summer, I was playing it on my phone and dancing while walking up the street, much to the amusement of bystanders.

You have no idea how much this song was part of my childhood 😊. Me and my parents were on vacation in Mallorca in 1995 and every evening the hotel hosted the "Mini Disco" where they played this, "Superman", "The Music Man", "Hockey Cockey" and a few other tracks. Me at 5 years old danced my little ass off to every song 😅. Then I bought a cassette (those were the days 😀) and not only the songs but also the DJ's banters could be heard on it. I played it every summer after that because it reminded me so much of that vacation until we flew back to Mallorca 5 years later and I went to the Mini Disco again and this time I bought a CD 😁.
My great grandfather was 10th Light Horse in the first, my grandfather was 2/3rd Machine Gunner. I heard their stories. I remember them.
When I was young, and I mean just a pup, I heard this song on a close to daily basis. I've not heard it in years.
It was only today that I heard it ... and finally understood its message.
