Glad y'all enjoyed Magnolia Beach and Matagorda Bay. My sister lives down the coast from you on Mustang Island she's taken me up and down the coast sightseeing. :) And by the way, the grocery store is not pronounced "Heb," it's actually pronounced by its initials - "H. Welcome to Texas. Love your set up and the Indian Motorcycle. I have been following watching your videos for a while now. Spent a many day on that beach in my teens and twenties. I'm 54 now have a 40 ft Keystone Raptor Toy Hauler and love it. Enjoy the info and tips and SAFE travels.
This is so neat to see...I was born in Port lavaca and it's where my father's family is from and cousins still live. Our family owns several beachfront lots on magnolia Beach right about where you guys are at.. thank you for showing off the beautiful spots in my ancestors home town😊❤️
We were just there over Memorial Day. We have several cabins there, but I took my Solitude as we had a lot of people to sleep. Glad you liked it and sorry we missed you.
Seaside RV Resort in Seabrook is right across the highway from our home! Magnolia Beach is a favorite place of ours to boondock in Texas (sadly we don't have much of that in Texas )-: Beach camping definitely has to be timed right for it to be comfortable...late fall and winter and early spring is probably the best time and you get to meet dozens of folks from Ontario down there. Lavaca BBQ in Port Lavaca and Victoria is a solid BBQ spot if you ever make it back...one of the Texas Monthly food editors said you'd find Jesus at Lavaca BBQ, lol. Heeb is totally cool to say, our son manages one and they say the same thing too, lol. Take care!
A thought on humidity while boondocking. We have a small $50. humidifier we run on the inverter to keep the humidity in the RV down. That keeps us from having to use the AC (heavy power draw) as often to keep the interior dry. During the early summer and early fall months we're actually able to set the temp on the AC higher, while still feeling the same comfort level. It will normally pull a cup or two of moisture per day, a little more if we keep the doors open.
I have wanted to try Magnolia Beach since I saw Tom and Cherie of Enjoy the Journey go there. It looks absolutely beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your time there.
You might want to check out a dehumidifier. They do make small ones and they are not that pricy. But they sure make life when RVing a whole lot more enjoyable. We've found that turning on the AC tends to just cool down the moisture but doesn't get rid of it. Great video guys.
Just now watching this week's video. for that white truck that NEEDED to be in front of you on the highway, Chad needs to get with the program and get an air horn (LOL). You're on the beach in TX, eating lovely sandwiches. We're in the mountains of Utah eating our pastrami sandwiches (on rye, and mine has kraut) at a Harvest Host at a farm/orchard and barn store. Love this RV life. ☺
Love your channel and welcome to Texas! We love the coast but won’t boondoggle on the beach. The direct salt air is terrible on any exposed metal, specifically the trailer brakes!
There's also a Harvest Host, which is the Magnolia Beach Campground. Prior to our "boondock readiness", we stayed there for about two weeks. Next visit, we've already planned to be on the beach, and then do our dump and fill at the campground on the way out.
We just left Magnolia Beach May 10th. It was HOT! So hot that we left early to get ourselves some 50amp service! Really enjoyed the beach but wanted to spend more time outside than inside with AC. It was our first time beach camping and we would definately do it again!
Glad y'all made it down. Our homebase is Magnolia Beach, in fact, our house made your video. It was one of the blue houses on the right as you turned onto Ocean Drive. We aren't there now but it would have been very cool to meet you out there. Stay safe and keep doing what you do.
I hope you enjoyed the Shiner beer. My dad was from there. It's worth checking out. I was hoping that you would have said something about Indianola. It was a landing spot for many immigrants it the 1880s. There was a town there but too many hurricanes wiped out the buildings. There is a statue of Laffite and some plaques about the ghost town. the remains of the building are in the bay.
I think the hit of the video was that "jackass" that didnt go very far ahead after. I think everyone one of us commenting on here would say exactly the same thing. Lol That made my day, thanks for the laugh!😂 Luckily you guys didnt have to slam your breaks on.
I could see the benefits of that charging system while driving since the truck is already running but that idle time is bad for the Emmissions system. I'll stick with the Yamaha onboard genny.

Great video and nice place on the beach! I’m curious on how much fuel is burned in the truck vs a generator and how long you have to run the truck to charge the batteries from 30% to 90ish -100%

It's hard to beat that lunctime view at the magnificent Magnolia seaside.

One or two more solar panels on top or portable solar and you'd be on the positive side with the A/C running.
