Impressionante como o Coltrane criou uma obra prima que pode transitar em várias vertentes. Já ouvi várias versões de Giant Steps. A de Samba Jazz e essa, de Medium Bossa são as melhores. Essa então é leve mas mantém o groove original. É pra sentar, colocar pra tocar e viajar.
Perfect. The slower tempo and the beautiful voicings allow for a far more in-depth study of the harmony as well as for a free-er improvisational approach. Thank you for making this available.
Thanks! The bossa beat helps me feel the changes. Forever in the woodshed.
Very nice bosa interpretation of this tune is by Waking Vision Trio... Since you can not really link other videos in comments, you d need to look it up yourselves.
if you cant take the stairs you take the elevator, that takes giant steps
Austin Wilson Nice one
Thank you, great practice tempo indeed! Who are the players? Would be nice to give them credits!
Hey! Hope you enjoy your practicing session. Feel free to post a video of you jamming along below! We made this backing track with a cool practice tool called Band-in-a-Box. If you want to check out all the things you can do with it click here: www.learnjazzstandards.com/band-in-a-box/

braincracker :) see also composition "Dear John" by Freddie Hubbard - same chord progression, alternate melody. very beautiful.
Yeah
This is as fast as I can go for now. I’ll check five years down the road and hope it seems slow by then.
Romantic
WHERE'S DA 400 FREAKIN BPM!!!!! NNNUUUAAAAAAGHHGHUUUGH!!!!
lol.
what key is this in?
giant steps floats, it's not really in a key.
Eb B G....
it does end on Eb, so you could make the case that it resolves in Eb somehow
mk59apr thanks that does help,.........not sure what chord changes: mean for me playing tenor sax ?
Edward Macartney you can think of it as being in A. the third measure is the I, going backwards you have the V, the "V of the vi," the "V of the V of the vi," then the "V of the vi of the V of the vi." Fun!
most people would think of it in Db, but it has 3 key centers, for a Bb inst. they are Db, F and A. It isn't that hard of a tune, once you learn it. But there aren't many like it, so it takes time.
