I was not expected that first shade to be so pretty! When you added all of those colors together I was like oh no she ruined it lol ... These colors are BEAUTIFUL! Excellent video
Another lovely way to do this is use 2 parts pigment, 1 part vegetable glycerin and 1 part coconut oil. I do it all the time and it looks gorgeous and glossy on the skin, it's also ver moisturizing so it doesn't bring out imperfections. Give it a try!!
+makeupbymelic_ not if you already have the products to make it and just use these old products. Like if you already have shimmery eyeshadows and such that you no longer use you can make a highlighter out of them, if not then yes I would just buy a highlighter
The best highlighter DIY that I have seen so far. I've gone through my collections pulled a bunch of eyeshadows that I can use. I'm doing three. One that I hope will be gold. A rosegold. And a bronze. All I need now are containers and a high content alcohol. Hope mine look as good as yours.
This is a great idea! I could go to dollar tree and rack up on loose pigments and make highlighters! I have some old pigments in my makeup box that I no longer wear too! I was getting ready to throw them away until I watched this video! This is very innovative information! 😀Thanks a million!
Regina George same here! I've been wearing dollar store and low end drugstore makeup since I was 17yrs. I'm 32 now and I've never had any type of bad skin reaction to any of the makeup! And I get the same flawless results as Mac or any of the other high end cosmetics! It all about the tecnique and the application process. People don't believe me when I say, "This is dollar store makeup!" Lol!
Lately I've been using a NYX Ultra Pearl Mania pigment as highlighter, & it works great, but for whatever reason it didn't occur to me to press it in a pan. Seems so obvious now that I see this, lol, but never thought of it & it would make things neater & quicker.
Oh my god! Thank you. This worked. Ahaha I used eyeshadow for highlighter! I don't like spending a lot of money on makeup. :( So I decided to do this! This was very helpful I did this and will I say it works! Took about 10 minutes.!!! I say do it! BUT be very careful with the rubbing alcohol..don't put to much. It gets watery fast.
lol in the beginning i was like aw man this looks like a mess but omg i was so wrong this came out amazing!!!! I'm definitely going to be trying this. thank you so much for making this video (:
Hi everyone! Sorry I'm not posting anything. I'm currently travelling the world ! Check out my Instagram if you want to know where I am. Other wise I will be back on TH-cam in December ! Thanks so much for all the support! Xx Instagram - jemma_standley or jemma_standley_makeup
Gorgeous, i am about to make my own but will be adding a drop of essential oil to mask the strong smell of the alcohol, i saw someone else doing that and think its a great idea xx
the alcohol dries out, the purpose of the alcohol is to press the pigments into a pressed powder. you can't smell it because once the products dries it's essentially not there.
+Karla Morales I think this is more for if you already have some shimmery eyeshadows that you no longer use. And it doesnt have to be MAC, there are plenty of cheaper shimmers
Love the DIY approach I used to do things like this, you can actually also do this with cheaper eyeshadows :) Can you please link to the alcohol you used to mix? Laura xx
Wow this is amazing!!! I love the highlighter you made in the tutorial, which pigments exactly did you use? Pleaseee reply I think you listed a bunch of your pigments but didn't be specific for the amazing one you just made ❤️❤️❤️
Great video❤️ I just made I own highlighter a few days ago it's much easier if you mix everything in a disposable cup of sum sort and then pour it in the pa
Hi , these highlights came out so beautiful. I was wondering if you were selling any of the bigger highlighters that you have made? I totally loved them. ❤️❤️❤️
For everyone asking about the price of the pigments, you can just go to dollar tree and buy the loose pigments there as they are super pigmented and very shimmery. I'd reccomend the shade "Honey suckle"
I think this is great if you want a colour of highlight that isnt available, and if you have eyeshadows and pigments then you dont need much to make a highlighter of your own, i am making a rainbow highlighter and also a few others, xx
I just made 3 of these. If you want a cheaper alternative for the pigments.. Please use micas. You will need a binder to press the highlighter. But it's cheaper to use micas, a binder, & alcohol.
Wow this is suck an amazing idea truth be told i only own three mac pigments but i do own loreal infallible pressed glitter eyeshadows. and from other brands that are cheaper than mac and i tried this with those and it came out just as pigmented and gorgeous i use it everyday now ^__^
Can I add some fews drop of coconut oil, almond oil? Cause I think...too much alcohol is kinda hard for my skin, so I want some natural oil balance it.
I was not expected that first shade to be so pretty! When you added all of those colors together I was like oh no she ruined it lol ... These colors are BEAUTIFUL! Excellent video
Thought I was the only one who thought this! 😂😂
Makes me realize that highlighter are basically just glittery eyeshadow in a bigger pot.
yessss check out my video similar to this
JadeLee13 highlighters are supposed to complement your face but give it a little glow but eyeshadow is supposed to stand out from your face
JadeLee13 this is why i use my glitter eyeshadow as highlighter 😂 and also because i'm poor
Another lovely way to do this is use 2 parts pigment, 1 part vegetable glycerin and 1 part coconut oil. I do it all the time and it looks gorgeous and glossy on the skin, it's also ver moisturizing so it doesn't bring out imperfections. Give it a try!!
^^^this recipe is for a cream highlighter :)
this is great! (:
Wouldn't that end up being more expensive than just buying a highlighter?
depends on how much it was to buy ur pigments
+makeupbymelic_ not if you already have the products to make it and just use these old products. Like if you already have shimmery eyeshadows and such that you no longer use you can make a highlighter out of them, if not then yes I would just buy a highlighter
+makeupbymelic_ i guess its just for the fun of making your own stuff?
yas, i just think that if you use a lot of mac eyeshadows, then the waste of money is almost the same as if you buy a regular highlitght
Not if you already have pigments

I wouldn't recommend using dollar tree makeup. It could be expired and bad for your skin but
+Piercethesammi X NO ITS NOT I LOVE DOLLAE TREE MAKEUP

DollarTree sells loose pigments?! How?! Where?! By who?!
+Madison Mora i think kleancolor? maybe lol
Guys I BOUGHT $1 makeup eye shadows from miss a and broke them up, poured baby oil and it worked very well.
Lately I've been using a NYX Ultra Pearl Mania pigment as highlighter, & it works great, but for whatever reason it didn't occur to me to press it in a pan. Seems so obvious now that I see this, lol, but never thought of it & it would make things neater & quicker.
Same!!! It's a perfect color for highlighter
Oh my god! Thank you. This worked. Ahaha I used eyeshadow for highlighter! I don't like spending a lot of money on makeup. :(

was about to spend my money on a becca highlighter, now i can just do this!! ur a lifesaver!!!
They all look absolutely gorgeous!
I like this idea but buying all those pigments would be expensive 😜
I agree it's much cheaper to get a highlighter.
+Anna I think this is more for if you already have some shimmery eyeshadows and such that you no longer use
+Anna dollar tree has some nice loose shadow pigments :)
i agree
you can make your own pigments with mica powder and stuff! look it up its loads cheaper in the end.

Please sell these
yaaaaaassssssssss!
I feel they would be super expensive tho because she used so many pigments plus she needs packaging for all of the highlighters
Was thinking the same, she's talented lol
Would love to one day! X
I used white eyeshadow and it came out so pretty! ThAnk you so much❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome idea! ✨✨✨✨ can't wait to try it out!
but aren't each of those mac pigments really expensive?? I'd rather just buy an actual highlighter for the same or less without the hassle
+Karla Morales I think this is more for if you already have some shimmery eyeshadows that you no longer use. And it doesnt have to be MAC, there are plenty of cheaper shimmers
There's also Jesse girls dust pigments and there very pigmented for $4!(:

All of them are so pretty omg
can you add coconut oil if you want it to be more buttery?
Love the DIY approach I used to do things like this, you can actually also do this with cheaper eyeshadows :)
Can you please link to the alcohol you used to mix?
Laura xx

Hi , these highlights came out so beautiful. I was wondering if you were selling any of the bigger highlighters that you have made? I totally loved them. ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful!!!
For everyone asking about the price of the pigments, you can just go to dollar tree and buy the loose pigments there as they are super pigmented and very shimmery. I'd reccomend the shade "Honey suckle"
They look beautiful
how did you get the swirl patterns in the two big highlighters?
That's a brilliant idea.
I think this is great if you want a colour of highlight that isnt available, and if you have eyeshadows and pigments then you dont need much to make a highlighter of your own, i am making a rainbow highlighter and also a few others, xx
Hi! About how many of those little jars did you have to use to fill the big highlighter pans like the ones in the msf packaging?
This was so helpful love it thank u 😍💕💕
Seems to me to be a pretty expensive highlighter using all those Mac pigments, but makes a beautiful color great job.
I just made 3 of these. If you want a cheaper alternative for the pigments.. Please use micas. You will need a binder to press the highlighter. But it's cheaper to use micas, a binder, & alcohol.
+Chassy Mai What;s Micas?
+Kandidly Kristen lol nevermind searched it haha
Omg!! I loveeee all of them!!!!!!!!!! 😍
Wow this is suck an amazing idea truth be told i only own three mac pigments but i do own loreal infallible pressed glitter eyeshadows. and from other brands that are cheaper than mac and i tried this with those and it came out just as pigmented and gorgeous i use it everyday now ^__^
Can you do a bronzy full glam look for oily skin xx
How did you make a stamp on your pigments?
She used a coin, or the bottom of a bottle. Something flat, and on the shape that you want works well.
Can u use eyeshadow?
so pretty OMG!
will the alcohol evaporate so no chemical is left behind? I am so doing this!
omg .. so creative and expensive and the same time ..
I think it's better than Soft 'n' Gentel .. 😍😍😍
You can use elf highlighters they're dupes for mac highlighters
I heard of PHYSIANS FORMULA .. elf I don't think that I can find'em in my country (Algeria❤)
Where do you get the cute pressing device ?
Can I add some fews drop of coconut oil, almond oil? Cause I think...too much alcohol is kinda hard for my skin, so I want some natural oil balance it.
Jemma please upload more videos. I love your channel, I am a huge fan of MAC product and I like they way MAC artists work. Please come backkk 😞
can you show the colors to use for the gold?
Can you also use exeshadow instead of Pigments?
How did you create the stamp/flower design in the larger highlighters (in the msf pans?)
Thanks for the reply, although I must say it was sassy ( I'm new to this lol)
instead of alcohol can you just use water or would it clump really bad
looks very pretty but the glitter is too chunky for me. I would use them as eyeshadows tho. great video
Did you have any mold or no?
Omg how did you make that gold one it's so pretty
What can I use as an alternative for the alcohol she used? x
is that eye shadow in the beginning ?
can you use regular clear alcohol to make this?
Like 70% rubbing alcohol? If that's what you mean, then yes. :)
+KitKat Draws can i use acetone?
aileh rebel no, acetone is a corrosive produvt. it would eat the pigmnt and burn while wet
+haunted kitteh can I use witch hazel
I hve no..rubbing alcohol... so..can I use.. nail polish remover?
