Replacement tracks for our favorite 1/35th scale model kits can be expensive and many rare variants are not available by our kit manufacturers and aftermarket brands.
This video is a follow-up on my video about printing tracks. It's possible, but how good does it get with a home 3D printer for resin. Well, in this video I show my newly designed Pz.Kpfw. I workable tracks, explain the complete updated printing process and compare them against Dragon Models Magic Tracks, Italeri and Tristar. Let's see if 3D printed scale model tracks are just a replacement or even a worthwhile upgrade...

Sry lads for breaking the schedule on this one. I took the chance to update my workflow to a fully scripted video, recording audio fist this time (instead of filming along and doing a voiceover after editing). I took more time than would have liked, but in my opinion the result is a noticable better video in the end : ) Next week it's back to Friday again, with lessons learned fully implemented.

@@paulhumphriesz4557 It will be the way to supplement our builds for shure - I lost one of these hooks going in the front of the vehicle. It was replaced in less than an hour... But it all boils down to well we can do computer aided drafting or 3d modelling - that's the real boiling point. You see a lot of large figures being printed on YT, these organic shapes are less affacted to warping, twisting and shrinking than mechanical looking parts are - my lastly printed E75 tracks looked like a banana for example of the first try ; ) It looks easy, it is easy but it has some pitfalls...

Hi. I was inspired by this video. And modellled clamp for the tools. It perfectly printed although it is as tiny as PE parts. But all my 3d-printed clamps are fragile as hell. Just touch it and it breaks. Did you try to print a clamps? I'm using anycubic "basic" resin. After curing it's like ceramic.

There are different types of Resin, you can get some with ABS like properties -> much less fragile. I'm kind of limited to water washable resin because I can't justify having large quantities of IPA /Ethanol around (Fire/Vapor hazard).

The photon s should be compareable to the mono, it's grid is around 47,5um (messured my spare display) - not in print time of cause. Atm I'm too short on resin to dial the photon in. I never printed the same parts on both machines with maxed out settings, the sm4k was in practical terms a replacement.
