IDK if I'm the only one NOT a fan of these kinda mod. I found original emblem beautiful and darken version makes the whole car looks old. Also I don't like "rear wiper deleted", "GTI logo deleted" those kind of mod either.. But that just my opinion. Great tutorial for those who interested.
Great video. Thanks for posting this. Once you have the front emblem removed from the grill, is it possible to further dissemble the emblem? I'm hoping it's possible to separate the chrome "VW" from the emblem, with the goal of powder coating the VW black and remounting after I've used a gray vinyl wrap to cover the black backing piece. So, instead of the stock chrome-on-black emblem, I'd have a black-on-gray emblem which I could then reinstall on the grill. Thanks for any insight you might have!
naw bro, i mean.. its possible.. sure.. if you have a solder iron to melt all the plastic attachment areas and stuff but not worth it.. i'd have to watch this again, i dont even remember what it looks like anymore.

If I remember correctly the hardest part was the sides of the emblem to wrap? Now you can just use the front piece placing it on top of the black, so you’ll won’t have to worry with those flimsy side pieces
@@LastHumansGarage sorry. I was asking if the heat from the hot air gun may cause the crack on the emblem. I found my emblem cracked but not sure what casue it.

So on my rabbit i did a red inlay from klii motorwerks. And i bought the rear emblem for a mk7 to overlay it. It looks nice.

@@nocseven6669 dude ive put dark tint over mine, black gloss vinyl, layers of spray paint.... nothing ever caused an issue w the radar working.

this is my only concern
First thing I did after I got the car was get the front end covered with PPF. VW has soft paint and chips easily.
VW paint is rock hard compared to Subaru paint..

my current favorite is Avery Dennison, its the easiest to work with regarding bubbles.
