Action speaks louder than words. How do you reconcile democracy with ".....grab it, snatch it and run with it." I wonder.

The second speaker was very impressive, he acted as a mouth peace of the voiceless masses,Tinumbu acted as a father who canned a child and expect yet expect him not to cry,Tinumbu speech is empty, hollow, ambiguous and lacks merit in all ramifications, people expected some messages that wld cool their calm, console them and give them hope and encouragement, but he talks like someone who bought his way to the throne and care less

When the 2023 election campaigns were ongoing, even though I didn't support BAT I told friends that I was happy that for the first time in a long while all the major aspirant had no military orientation. They were all civilians. So whoever wins would uphold Democratic ideals.
Events since after the election, this administration has left so much to be desired. Our military past still plagues our governance style.

@@chidispalace True Chidi. But what I wrote was that "for the first time in a long while". Hence I didn't say "never". Secondly, it's arguable that Yaradua had a military background because his elder brother was once the military second in command to the Obasanjo's military junta. All in all, I know you get my drift.

Democracy is govt of the people by the people... But during campaigns he said, "Power is not given alar carte, you have to snatch it, grab it and run with it." Does that his statement align with the word DEMOCRACY? Old man like Tinubu talking from both sides of his mouth and with his incompetence that has brought so much hardship on us and made our Multinational companies evecuate the Country. He should Return that stolen mandate and stop all these empty speech.

Tinubu's speech will not put food on your table. The dividend of democracy should celebrate democracy day not the empty speech. Unfortunately, the reading democracy speech today is an embodiment of anti-democratic tendencies.

From a very perspective area of reasoning, the government of the day must realize that governance also like everything else in the world is evolving. I would not judge anyone including our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu but one thing i would take away as a plus when he was governor in Lagos is that he was the one who drew the blue print of the prosperity of Lagos which is not yet perfect although it's a very good work in progress considering the proteges whom have succeeded him but the Nation is a different ball game and any mark which he leaves now, must be truly legendary.

You cannot control the party...in the US, it is the same and it is the same all over the world. The best do not emerge from the parties. You want the best...you have to do a selection process that is not democratic. Those that won at the party level are the wills of the party people. Encourage more people to get involved at the party level...you cant ignore the major work at the party level and complain about those that emerge. We are all guilty of this.
