Every true Philly fan says Santa deserved it. We aren't really A-Holes. We are just a very passionate fanbase. Trea Turner is back.
If you haven’t eaten a leftover “soft pretzel” that chews like a salted piece of leather, you haven’t lived! Philly loves Trea Turner because even when he was struggling, he was hustling. If he was not running out fly balls or not diving to make plays, it would be different, but Turner is no slacker.
In terms of Philly being "soft" with Trea Turner... I (as a Philly fan) would call it "tactical softness" - Turner was stand-up and took ownership of how he was playing, which will always resonate with us, even if the results aren't currently there. We recognized he could use the lift, and so we gave it to him. And now he's responded in kind with great play. Like a kind of symbiosis.
Let me explain Philly for anyone who isn’t from here. We don’t care if you’re the 53rd man, the 15th man off the bench, the last guy in the batting order. If you HUSTLE. We love you. You know why AI is adored ? Because he gave 110% effort every single night. If you give us your all. We’re happy. That’s all we want bro. It’s why everyone was DISGUSTED with the 6ers. They gave us no effort.

To be honest; there’s a time for tough love (boo’s, chirping, and whatnot) and there’s a time for support. Turner was clearly in his own head, just full mental struggle. Where no matter what he tried, or how hard he tried, he just couldn’t shake the 4 month slump. He needed to find a way back to letting himself just have some fun and play the game. It is a game that’s supposed to be fun after all. It seems like he’s starting to get back to that.
Ben simmons refused to learn how to shoot buckets. Trea was at least *trying*. There's a huge difference
