I left a guild for similar reasons as the author of the second story (they were a 2-day mythic raiding guild that used one of those days to reclear heroic to fish for titanforges), but I told them in no uncertain terms that I wanted to spend more of my time on progressing rather than farming. They were cool about it and I still occasionally run dungeons with them to this day.

The first raid I missed that tier, they killed Arthas. Shortly after they all stopped playing until Cata. Never killed LK during wrath...

The second story. I don't have a prejudice against youngsters. But that is why I don't like to raid with people below a certain age. Because once you are out there on your own (and some teenagers had to be adults for quite a while, or are just more chill for other reasons), you learn to a) not lie for nothing and b) not to push a topic. And if you do, and someone tells you "Okay... allright... shut up right now", hopefully you've learned to leave it at that (I for one certainly don't. I discuss stuff until it's dead, or leave it disappointedly, with a grudge). So yeah. If everyone is of a certain age, you can't expect me to be lenient with youngsters, so I can be the asshole I really am.
Well, I would say this: Jaxct was throwing a bitch fit. He wasn't wrong, but he could've maintained his composure and kept from name calling - maggot in particular is rather harshly evocative - and addressed the issue of why someone would be leaving the guild.
As someone that grew up with a stutter/stammer Ive experienced some pretty frustrating moments. Like for instance, stuttering on D and V when trying to pronounce my name in its entirety. But... I have spammer LOL thats hilarious and Ive been called that myself. Silverlining... better to be called a spammer and not have people make sputtering sounds when you stumble on your words. That shit get motherfuckers killed.
The Jaxct story, sure the lie was bad on his part but sounds like Jaxct needed to be less of a control freak and try some mythic. Would've avoided some of the problems, but at the end of the day if your gonna leave to find a new guild just do it, don't bother making excuses or reasons people will see them as whatever they need to see them as.

nah dude, there are casual mythic guilds. my guild is one. we have loot count, dont bench bads, some peeps forget chants/gems. we are 6/11 mythic. if you pull a boss enough times, any skill cap can kill it. Ps. poor poor Sarah.
I don't doubt your description of the guild. But the point is, being in mythic puts you in the top 1%, so you are at least more "hardcore" than 99% of players.

I feel you on this, raid 2 days a week 3 hours a day (or so says the schedule when your tank is 30mins late in other words), same with non gemmed non enchanted people, maybe 1 pug or trial, possibly even a 940 eq player some people die on the first mechanic every pull and your boss downs are a result of the luck of having your good players getting the rng mechanics who handle them properly...currently 5/11 mythic. I like to call this a heroic guild that raids mythic simply.
ya i dont see it being hardcore raiding 2/3 hours for 2 days a week....weather that be normal heroic or even mythic.....I dont think ppl understand what "hardcore" looks like in this game....that's like a 5 day a week raid schedule raiding like 2+ hours a night easy....the main reason why there are not more ppl farming mythic, isn't because its that much harder lol because if you have ever done any mythic bosses you will find they arnt really that much harder than heroic, just some new mechanics to get used to....there's less mythic grps because it takes a set 20 ppl....heroic/normal has more flexibility for grp size/skill level needed.
