I actually love the first half, everything after Duel Carnival is weird. The only moments that are epic are the Sargasso Dimension, The Dragon Blonde Guy and when III, IV and V helped. I didn't like that Shark is suddenly the main villain, it feels forced
@@foxxberry2752 He isn't a villain. He was fighting for his friends. He spent more time as the king Nasch than as Kamishiro Ryoga. His old friends wanted to destroy the Barian World, they wanted to kill the people that Nasch failed to protect. He doesn't want to fail again, and that's why he wants to cut his bonds with Yuma and his old friends. He deep down conflicted inside of his heart. He wanted his old friends to hate him so he wouldn't have remorse in killing them. He believes that his people are his true friends. Nasch feels like he is guilty for his people he failed to protect in the war, and that is why he did what he did. Nasch even says that it is his destiny to protect the Barian World, because he wants to protect his friends. Shark's character is as deep as the seas that sharks swim through. Both Nasch and Yuma fight for their friends, and that is why Nasch is the best ZeXal character.
His motivation persists: Protect the people he loves. Since the beginning, it's shown that that is his motivation. He had a choice: Protect hundreds of people who admired him and that he knew for years and that he failed to protect or a gang that he knew for a few months. He liked both of the groups, it's shown in his duel with IV, but he had to choose. He even had a mental breakdown when he realized he was a Barian.
@@CreatineKinaze69 to be fair though, Tron only became like that after getting backstabbed by Kaito's father and becoming the "other pawn" to Vector, who ended up himself being a pawn of Don Thousand.
Probably my favorite Yugioh opening song ngl. Also, watching this again made me realize I think Zexal had the best character designs out of all the shows. Look at these guys! They are so distinctly designed, I love it!
There is a moment where it clicks in. The story, the music, the characters, everything. What clicks in, you ask? It's the moment when we realize ZeXal is the best Yu-gi-oh of all.
@@xacmashe3852 thats not how that works, zexal was the last series to not get extremely rushed development. Studio gallop was often redo entire plot lines with little time to work becouse of Konami mandates.
@@chronic-joker Duel Monsters didn't get rushed as far as I know. Either that or Kazuki Takahashi was so good of a writer that he managed to make things actually make sense. I love GX, but there are so many things that didn't make sense. The most glaring of them is Darkness. Why the hell was he working for Kagemaru, and also, why is there the gentle darkness and the evil darkness. Makes no sense. 5Ds also has rushing but unlike GX the ending was great.
@@yumatsukumo4895 I have a theory regarding ZeXal. In the end it's revealed that Yuma is actually a part of Astral that was sent into the normal world. I think ZeXal is Astral's original name because of that. Either that or the Astral World got its name by the hero that saved it, but the latter theory is less likely.
I love this song, even though the show bored me bc of how bad Yuma was at dueling. I’m sad that they don’t have this song at my favorite karaoke chain, but they have all the other YGO songs from DM, GX & 5DS.
Man, the chills I get when listening to those openings. I don't care what people say about zexal, that shit was my childhood!

Yuma had more dueling skill than the rest of the protags. Up there with Yusei.
That's cuz Yuma is a underdog story he was subpar and became better as the series went on.
