very informative video.....Question as follows Can I use this technique/process for automotive upholstery? I would consider this on a pair of bucket seats that came equipped in my 1983 Ford E350 Econoline van.The material on the seats is a green velour that I would like to convert/paint to some shade of medium to dark brown. Thanx in advance...VSR in upstate (Kingston) NY
I’m painting a kids toy bench and have painted the fabric with DB I want to paint an octopus on it now.?should I do the octopus after the best dang wax. Or before?
As long as you sand in between coats and wax well, the fabric will be soft. Now painting fabric will change the feel slightly, but it’s not stiff or crunchy
Did you use the silk or chalk Dixie bell paint?
I used the Chalk Mineral Line 😊
I am changing my dinning room into my nail room for my in home business. I have a spa room in a spare room.
Oh how fun!!!
I am working on pillow painting right now.
How exciting! Is this your first time painting fabric?
no but it has been awhile.@@ThePurplePosie

I’ve never done that but I don’t know why you couldn’t! Would put an extra coat of wax sealer on it!
Loved it thank you!! ♥️
You’re so welcome!

Before! Sand before you paint your octopus and then apply your BDW!
How long should the wax cure before sitting on it? Just one coat of wax?
I would do 2 coats and wait 2-3 days
Hello! Do you think chalk paint would work on velvet?
I haven’t personally tried it, but I’ve seen mixed reviews on it, honestly
@@ThePurplePosieOk, I’ll look further into it. Thank you!
Hi there I live in Texas I love how it came out. Love that ppl can paint fabric. Have a blessed week doll 🙏🏽♥️👌🏾
Yay Texas! 😬
Will the wax make the material look leathery?
I don’t personally think it does at all
If I paint clothing, how does it stand up to washing?
I’ve never personally washed fabric that was painted, but I would say to let it cure in the sun and when it needs washed, hand wash only
I guess this paint is mainly for furniture?@@ThePurplePosie
@@lisabell9021 mainly, yes. But Dixie Belle Paint has so many unique uses, including fabric painting!
Thank you!@@ThePurplePosie
Did you use slick stick before painting?
I used slick stick on the wood 😊
does the fabric feel hard at the end? please advise thanks
