    this was so underrated. Really good job. You can add cleats to the back to put it on the wall too.

    Thank you so much! This is so helpful. I just bought some high-loft batting to prevent the flat fabric on flat foam look you warned against! Your video answered my questions about the steps of stapling and how to do the corners. God bless you!

    Came out good. I give myself a 7 out of 10. I made 3 cushions, each got a little better with lessons learned. What I would have done differently: 1. Sharp scissors - seems obvious - just overlooked. 2. Apply EVEN pressure when I pulled the fabric. This was not as bad as I used High density foam, had I used Medium density it would have been less forgiving and I would have likely had to restart. Thx for sharing.

      7 out of 10 is great for a first time! It’s definitely a project that you get better at each time you do it. Thanks for letting me know how it went! 👍

    Awesome Making mine this week I am adding no adhesive liners to the bottom so the staples do not scratch the wood in my breakfast nook

    Great instructions. But how did you attach your cushion to the bench?

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I used screws with a small L-bracket to attach it from underneath. But, you could also use something like heavy duty velcro tape or command strips in areas where you just want to hold it down.

    Brilliant. I will have a go at this method. Do you think by using this method I can create rounded corners for the front without showing any creases? Obviously I will need to cut rounded corners on the wood base and foam but I only want the folds showing on the back square corners. The curves will be about 3" radius. Thank you

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! With that radius, you can probably make such tiny folds on the bottom that you won’t notice them on the top or sides. Kind of like Dining Room chairs. 👍

    Hi, is there a way to protectv the wood underneath cushion so the staples don't damage any good wood they are sitting on that are the bench top ? Thanks

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! You can use a heavy duty Velcro tape to hold the bench still against that wood. And, a little hot glue and extra fabric or ribbon to cover the staples. 😊

    Great tutorial
    I did something similar 5 years ago.
    This is a greta technique for those of us who cannot make a sewn fabric cover.
    And I want to to do two more.
    I did not use batting or wadding.
    But I will do this time.
    How thick was your extra loft batting?

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ‘Extra Loft’ is the thickness. It’s a nice, thick batting. 👍 Good luck with your new project!

    Do you attach it to the seat then to make sure it doesn't shift when you sit on it?

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used screws for this bench. In some cases, just heavy duty Velcro tape could work. 😊

    • @AbbottsAtHome

      Hi! I love that fabric too. But, they don't seem to sell it anymore. I do have a list of some of my favorite upholstery fabrics here: www.abbottsathome.com/top-upholstery-fabrics-amazon/ There are some really pretty options on that list. :)

    Did you attach the wood on the bottom of the cushion to the piece of furniture?

    • @AbbottsAtHome
      @AbbottsAtHome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I used small angle brackets to attach this cushion to the bench frame I built. But, you could also use heavy duty velcro tape to hold the seat in place, to prevent movement. :)
